Can I please get hold of the new test version of Pimax EVO ?

Thanks

Please can I try the new beta internal build too

Is anyone else using Dream Air SLAM with Pimax EVO/OpenPort seeing intermittent startup or wake failures where USB is detected but the display is not (USB=1, DP=0, Screen=0, errorCode=10600), or where USB=1, DP=1, Error=0 but the screen remains off?

SteamVR/Sboys may then report Invalid refresh: 0 or WaitForPresent failed. The only reliable recovery I’ve found is restarting Windows with the headset disconnected, then reconnecting power → USB → DisplayPort with pauses.

Pimax Play 2.0.2 appears to improve Dream Air detection, but installing it removes or disrupts EVO/OpenPort support. Is EVO based on an older 2.0.1 runtime, and will the Dream Air fixes from 2.0.2 be included in the next EVO release? Is there an official software method to reset the Dream Air display path without physically unplugging it?

I had same problem until I plugged my usb directly into PC and eliminated as many usb connections from my USB extension hub. I have NOT had one blackout since and my Dream Air Slam has worked flawlessly since- I hope it helps you as it saved my sanity for sure!

Thanks for the comment. Was this with Pimax Evo software and the Sboys driver? My issue is more with the startup and recovery and bugs in the StreamVR Runtime mode.

I think that has always been recommended by Pimax i.e. to plug the USB cable directly into a USB 3.0+ PC port and not via a shared USB hub. Additionally, I also found that the DP cable does not like to share the graphics card with more than one monitor connection - HDMI or DP. That also might help people who get black or intermittent headset screen drop-outs.

PIMAX EVO but not using the SBoys

Agree- I use MSFS2024 and have 5 usb for yoke rudder, etc. I was using an extension hub and once the usb was overloaded, it would blackout- then reconnect in a “priority sequence”-

Once I rerouted my usb situation, my Pimax Dream Air Slam has been wonderful!

The new version is expected to be released this week, provided no major issues arise.

If you’re referring to the mouse stuttering hotfix, please send me a DM.

Shouldn’t the ‘hotfix’ simply be rolled out instead of having ppl ask for it?

Could I get the hotfix, please?

My mouse does stutter when Evo is on.

Please check the chatbox message.

This is a temporary build that hasn’t been integrated into Pimax EVO yet. It requires manually replacing one of the program files.

That’s why I haven’t released it publicly. We’re still optimizing it to ensure the issue is fully resolved before including it in an official release.

So another words anyone who needs this fix will have to request it.

It should be released like the Dr am Air SE ET temp fix. Then anyone with the issue can try the beta fix for the beta release if pimax play 2.0.0.2. much like the EVO but should have been addressed instead of doing an Alpha release.

Sounds like a gap in testing different hardware before release ie AMD setups, in this case AMD CPUs.

2.0.2 so far with crystal super oled is working great no issues, no blackout to date

How do I get the Pimax Super OLED running with the sboy driver? I keep getting a black screen, and SteamVR doesn’t detect the Pimax. I have the runtime environment set to SteamVR in the Evo app. Does anyone happen to have instructions?

Please reinstall Pimax EVO, enable OpenPort, and then launch SteamVR. It should work properly after that.

When reinstalling, make sure to select Clean Install during the installation process.
