I’ve been having blackout issues with my micro oled since I got it. It normally does it a few times, then settles down. One I get going in game, the issue stops. Very frustrating though when you are trying to get started.
Don’t know if this has happened to somebody else, but using Sboys3 dream air lighthouse driver through the new pimax Evo I kept getting intermittent signal loss with my base stations only for a second or so but still enough to interrupt my gameplay. So now I’ve reverted back to the current pimax play and used the driver and everything’s fine now.
Noted. I’ll ask the development team to review all of this feedback.
In the meantime, if this build isn’t providing a satisfactory experience, I’d recommend rolling back to either v1.44.2 or v2.0.1 and seeing if the issue persists.

We’ve seen some worry going around that EVO is the start of Pimax putting features behind a paywall. It’s not, so I want to address it directly.
Pimax Play has always been free, and that isn’t changing. EVO is free as well. (For example, Sboys3’s work is GPLv2 (including everything that Pimax helps to make it happen).
The main reason EVO exists is to give us a place to ship more experimental stuff — features that aren’t necessarily ready for the mass market, but that we think PCVR enthusiasts will actually want to play with. It’s a testing ground: a way for us to try new things, get real feedback from the people who care most, and improve the experience faster. That’s the entire point. It only works if it’s open to everyone.
On the paid feature part: Third-party tools and integrations may be paid. That’s on the third parties, not us. To be clear, this does not mean Pimax will start charging for its own features — we won’t. But we want to keep the door open to integrating outside tools down the line, and some of those could cost money. If that ever happens, our strong preference is a one-off payment, not a subscription. Seasoned PCVR users can imagine what type of companies or services would be paid (but I don’t want to drop examples here and have people speculate).
So, short version: Pimax’s own software stays free, EVO included. Any paid thing you ever see would be an optional third-party add-on, clearly labeled as such.

No, we are not asking users to pay to beta test features, nor are we requiring anyone to purchase software in order to use their headset.
I’ve actually posted an update regarding this in the latest comment section, which clarify the situation.
It’s currently a work in progress.
It has been tested on earlier models as well, including the 5K and 8K series, and worked.
It was working on my side.
Once I clicked “Switch to Pimax Play,” it redirected me to the v2.0.1 login page. After logging in, I was taken to the Pimax Play 2.0 interface, and everything worked as expected.
Or you’re referring the v1.44.x ?
Those features are on the way and should be implemented in upcoming updates. Since this is an Early Access release, we’re still sorting out a few things and gathering feedback before the full feature set is available.
Noted. This has been reported to our dev team.
This feature only works with SLAM-based tracking.
This will be implemented shortly.
Thank you for the feedback.
No, there won’t be any subscription or extra fee associated with it.
The feature is already available on the Dream Air, and we’re working on bringing it to the Crystal Super and Crystal Light in a future release.
It could be delivered to your SPAM.
Yes, I understand that there are a few missing features that many users rely on.
Please rest assured that these features are planned and will be added in upcoming updates.
Could you provide more details about the issue you’re experiencing with the Sboys driver and EVO?
