We have a good chance to hit a 2.5M strech goal! What would you like to see?

You can add $100 to your pledge to get the hand tracking module.
The eye tracking is still so far out that the most they could offer is a coupon for it.

So… I wouldn’t say no to the hand tracking, it would save me $100, but the eye tracking isn’t currently feasible to promise during the KickStarter.

OK … Let´s go for the Handtracking Module !!! :grinning:

$100 coupon module of your choice.

Hand tracking or the eye tracking module

Choice 1 : _ a lighthouse base tracking.
The vive base tracking cost 150 euros so…

Choice 2 : _ a hand tracking module

Choice 1, Employment of more staff to ensure that the orders can be fulfilled in a timely manor. I’m sick of seeing KS projects with feature creep that deliver 3 years too late. I think we all have enough goodies, now we just need the headsets built and shipped ASAP

I second that. I would be happy to get a nice big warranty card

If they give us a coupon for there store/website it won’t delay anything you can just use it when your ready. Or when they release what you want.

For the switching off of the LH boxes just use remotely controlled socket adapters which you can get for 10 bucks.
The front facing camera on the Vive ? Never used that one after the first month, so I would not really see which purpose it would serve where it does not offer an mixed reality.
The longer cable - absolutely, I find particularly the Rift cable just 2-3 feet too short. The Vive cable is kind of okay length-wise. So if Pimax could match that, fine with me.

I’d rather not use a clunky system that’s not part of the VR echo system to turn the lighthouses on and off. The Link box is also why your Vive cable length feels ok. The Pimax and Vive currently have the same cable lenght, but since the breakaway box adds another meter or so the Pimax is going to feel a lot shorter if it doesn’t get a longer cable. I use the front facing camera a lot. Its good for turning my controllers on when my headset is already on, to find my drink or just talk to whoever that comes into the VR room while I’m in a gaming season. It’s one of the things that make the Vive a much better roomscale experience.

Agree on the cable length point, did not think about the breakout box extension effect.
On the sockets - I have been using such remote control for the Vive since May 2016 and it is just so convenient. Of course, if a breakout box had a button to achieve the same, cool. But then the LH boxes still would need to be in standby and drag power, while in my case they are truly switched off. But hey, the more options the better.
On the camera, well, most of the Vive users I have see post something on the camera when the added value was discussed somewhere last autumn would agree that they felt it was just easier to lift the Vive rather than switch to the camera, consider the distance misrepresentation because the camera is not where your eyes are, and try to grab a glass with the Vive still hugging your face. And then of course drinking with the Vive on is not a pleasure either. But okay, again, the more options the better, just would have zero priority for me.

Agreed with the flaw of the vive camera. I do agree though it could be handy to look at a keyboard or controller. For activating the cam an on hmd would be good. On improving the idea a stereo camera would be better.

Cable extention as @LoneTech explained due to needed bandwidth the pimax headsets would need a breakout box to reinforce the signal. Vive & rift have an easier time on this as they need only around half (10.x gbs) where as for the 5k/8k require roughly (17gbs)

Yeah, module of choice is by far the best stretch goal. Also a great last goal as the 3M goal seems highly unlikely.
Although they might actually hit 3M if they really prove their product at them shows next week. New prototype through-lens-filmed with pro camera catching an indycar in Project Cars 2 at 200mph. That would for sure turbo charge (pun intended) the hype train. Hell, that might even take us to 3.5 and secure that free shipping coupon. :stuck_out_tongue:

How about a free Pimax poster signed by the CEO

A $100 coupon for any product of our choice.

Failing that, the hand tracking module please (worth the same value).

The problem with them just giving the hand tracking module is that they would need to contact everyone who has already pledged +100 for the hand tracking module. That sounds like a pain… I bet they would avoid.

They could just auto apply it and reduce the pledge by 100

The problem with this is, believe it or not some people have pledged more than the bare minimum because they wanted to. Thats why at the end of the kickstarter, when they send out the survey, you have to actually specify what the extra amount was for. They wouldn’t be able to just reduce the pledges by 100 across the broad. Not to mention, they wouldn’t… That would be less money. I expect for all future rewards they will simply give us coupons, its the easiest method.

I have not backed many KS projects, but from what I saw I understood that the stretch goals were always some kind of improvements or additional features added to the original project.

The idea behind was that with bigger chunk of money you get for the project you can afford to finance the additional features or improvements which otherwise would not be achievable due to some fixed entry cost, additional resources needed, etc. With bigger chunk it can be diluted into the overall expenses.

I do not think that the idea behind stretch goals is to give out money, since it does not contribute to the project and the product at all. It may attract some backers, but it will at the end hurt Pimax, because this way they will just lose money without any real benefit for them or the project. Kickstarter should be win-win.

The coupon for wireless does not seem like a great idea. The breakout-box could be.
