Finally some hopeful news on the Samsung headset, seems like at least the Asian release is imminent: Samsung’s Answer to Vision Pro Reportedly Landing First in Korea This October for Around $2,000
Friday hopefully the presentation at an “unpacked” Event in South Korea.
Then again, I’m not even sure if this has any advantages over the AVP, apart of the price of course. We’ll see ..
This is pretty cool and more of what is needed.
Has anyone ch cked out the tool in this article? Applies to both AMD & Nvidia

According to posts there. So far 4 known reports. Pimax can use the reported issues to ensure they avoid BSB pitfalls on QC & Design - on the DA models.

That was a great watch.
So today is the Pimax Sync event. Should be news on Dream Air and Dream Air SE.
you better not to copy paste from their forums what ppl write between reviews about Pimax :DD , as you grab almost most negative one, I can go & do the same for any HMD on the market - index, crystal, AVP, doesn’t matter
contrary I’ll paste few positive reviews, btw, what’s a real issue with their bsb2e (eye tracking version) is reports about some units heat issue due to some components malfunctioning, seems that’s not a case for ordinary non eye tracking units, but indeed that’s a real issue

Background: I’m coming from a BSB1. I’ve owned many VR headsets including multiple exotic expensive ones and have a great deal of experience with VR. I considered the BSB1 to be the best headset on the market as it unexpectedly replaced my other headsets as my main when I got it. For me, the biggest weakness of the BSB1 was the glare. Second biggest weakness was needing to keep eyes forward. Since the BSB2 was claimed to address both of these, I ordered it instantly when it was announced on March 20th.
First impression: The BSB2 delivers! I was surprised at just how much lighter it felt when I took it out of the box. I mean, I knew it was lighter, but I didn’t expect to really notice it. And then when I swapped it in place of my old BSB1 and tried using it for the first time, my immediate reaction was “Oh my god!”
It’s easy to imagine with the BSB1 what ideal would look like. Delete the glare. Make the rest of the display sharp, too. Well, that’s exactly what you get with the BSB2.

Great Things,
Ultra high resolution. I know that there are higher-res headsets available, but wow, the beyond looks so good. There is zero screen door effect and the only way I can see pixels is if I really look for them. Even with the same display as the Beyond 1, The 2e looks fantastic. There really is something to be said about direct-to-displayport headsets.,
High FOV. I have yet to do an actual FOV test, but I could tell immediately that the FOV on the 2e was a lot better than the 1. The shape of the 2e’s FOV is also more square than circular, which to me helps it feel less like I’m looking through binoculars.,
Great edge-to-edge-clarity. Almost the entire field of view is sharp and clear. I can tell that the lenses have been improved a lot from the previous generation. It’s a much better experience to look around the lenses now.,
Fantastic tracking. I love lighthouse tracking and how easy and accurate it is to use. The 2e tracks great in my playspace and I’ve had zero issues with it or my controllers.,
Tiny Size. Beyond headsets are TINY. They’re so small and so lightweight that I can be in vr for hours and never think much about weight on my face. For the cable, I use the VR Wire 2 and completely forget about it.
So I just finished watching the Pimax Sync event and still no release date for the Dream Air!
External Beta testing only starts in December. So no Dream Air in 2025.
That’s an improvement over announcing dates that they will likely miss. Hopefully they just take the time needed and make the headsets as good as they possibly can.
Problem is we’re near the position we feared for Pimax, at least I feared. With the competition between Samsung, Apple and Meta hotting up and going full on in 2026 I think small companies will start to feel the squeez.
If Meta released Boba 3 as a consumer headset even i would concider biting the bullet and turning back to the dark side.
When you look at the recent James Cameron Interviews I think Meta have something big in the works with regards to cinema and 3D movies. How long before we see Cinemas with no screens, just headsets?
I don’t think Pimax will ever make another bulky headset and once Dream Air arrives the Super will be the last of the Dinosaurs. The 12k will always remain a methocal HMD that never materialised.
Boba 3 killed the Pimax 12k dream. It even has 180 pass through lol.
SmallBaguette is this you? lol
I wish that was me, I would love to try the headset. And also instantly drop the weight I put on during covid…ahem…
I would buy boba 3 in a heartbeat but I doubt Meta will release it. We might see the tech in it in future headsets but even then I would be surprised if what we see is like 120 FOV but with smaller panels so a smaller form factor. It’s a tragedy because it really does seem like Boba 3 is the best VR headset in existence and it’s not a real product. So sad.
Yeah indeed and Taking time to review BSB2 & BSB2E is definitely helping potentially to avoid and address issues they are having. Especially now that more as some there have said “regular consumers” are receiving them. There seems to be less heavy downvoting unfavorable reviews
It is.
Meta will probably hold back on Boba 3 release until some one else announces something similar then they willcrush the competition like Pimax with subsidized or zero profit masss market headsets.
