Thats not good about the colors and the blacksā¦ i am used now to the index colors and they do pop alot more then my 5kplusā¦
So i dont hope the 8kx colors are the same as the 5k plus
Also i hope the brighness is the same as the index,and not worse!

Thanks for the write up. I like it when things are kept brief.
Fingers crossed they fix the cable, and that wasnāt actually just Pimax trying to explain away an issue they havenāt overcome yet/being not entirely truthful.

Please make some comments on your next testing about the 3D depth perception. I found that on the 8K at least it was just not as pronounced as other headsets and felt more like strapping a screen to my face with some minor 3D effect. And before anyone says move the IPD to get better depth. I tried that and each time the depth improved it increased a distorted image.

Well since others (YouTubeārs) have reported improvements on just that I hope the better setup today might clear that up.
@SweViver also mentioned hardware issues ( PC, Cabel and so on) on the Video so that seems fittingā¦, we will see.

Same problem with the cable today, some flickering and very low brightness.
I couldnāt check the colors because there only was available the flight simulator, and there werenāt many colors to check.
The audio was turned off because of problems with the driver, so I focused on the resolution, sde, and distortions.
Pitool at 1, Steam SS 100, and normal fov.
The resolution is truly amazing, the text in the cockpit, the far objects, the texture of the chair, the ultra small text on the tiny sticker at the back of the plane, everything was Cristal clear.
The sde is, well, itās not sde anymore.
I focused more on the distortions and yes, itās much better, only looking at the very edges of the lenses I could see some distortions but everything else was solid as a rock!
And the comfort is vastly improved, I donāt know how it will be on the summer, but I think with this comfort kit you will can play for hours with no issues.
I went for the 8K X, and if the colors and the brightness are ok with the right cable I wonāt regret it.

I think in Swevivers first Video he mentioned that more then one incedend lead to the damaged cabel and the āglueā situation - multiple people walking over the cabel or getting stuck in it in the process of walking. So I guess its normal - they most likley just did not have enough replacemends to compensat - which kind of turns to the same but i guess its hard to estimate the āroad killā.
