there’s a more recent firmware update at http://piplay-us.pimaxvr.com/P2.1.255.181.dfu, anyone tried it out?
@SweViver you tried it?
Did you try it?
Where did you get the info about it?

somebody else had the guts to try it? i Cant find any info on it
I love it!
“You go first!
No, YOU go first!”
i did it now @mp4x and everything is okay on my 5kplus,even it looks like the distortion is even less on the sides… But that can be my imagination or so…
But its safe!
Nice one, John, thanks for reporting back too
tried some more games,and for me it looks even better and runs great!
It’s a pity that Pimax does not provide change logs. In any case it’s always possible to flash older versions back.
Thx @john2910
Hi!
Why do we need to download the firmware manually?
Is the two latest firmwares beta versions ?
http://piplay-us.pimaxvr.com/P2.1.255.176.dfu
http://piplay-us.pimaxvr.com/P2.1.255.181.dfu
Why not available in Pitools under ”check new firmware” ?
How did you perform this firmware update? Using instructions from @SweViver’s pimax for dummies video? or use @Sjef’s tool?
@CayoDaves Just use the DFU.exe file in Pimax Runtime folder. Its much easier!
@john2910 nope, will try tommorow!
tomorrow!?, Come on where is your VR Christmas Spirit?
I flashed this new firmware - no issues at all.
If anything, performance seems better, but I haven’t done any real testing yet. I also tweaked some other settings so it might be those.
Im at work all night And forgot to bring my Pimax…
i even use the large field off view far more often now!
I haven’t even tried normal or small fov yet no point
I’ll probably play in Normal mode, not Wide, so I can increase the graphics settings a bit more. I’ll try Wide and use it, but only if it seems worth the framerate drop.
Large is nice when watching movie
