Why is that? What is the ticket you have submitted, the ticket will not be closed for any reason. When I feed back your questions, the customer service staff always ask me to ask you for a ticket number, and your questions can be dealt with immediately.
I have no idea why that is.
Whenever I try to open a support ticket I get the message 403 forbidden.
I had already been in touch with @PimaxQuorra about this who promised to solve it for me.
@PimaxQuorra Please help him quickly
All my information came from the finance department. Why did he pay $150 but only received a $144 refund? They told me that the crowdfunding staff had taken a handling fee, and Pimax had returned all the money he had received, so it was completely ridiculous and even discredited to make profits from it.
Using the Kickstarter platform similar to accepting credit card or other pay platforms the merchant accepts they lose part of the total received from the platform.
Pimax said they would refund the amount paid by the backer for said item(controllers in this case). Not what pimax received by using the Kickstarter platform.
You‘re probably right.
It‘s so hard to re-interpret the written „Sound“ of language at times, especially when you are very used to certain meanings.
Also repeating more or less the same sentence is usually a way of showing agitation.
Yet again, it‘s never clear if done by mistake or on purpose. And I‘ve definitely had my share of on purpose.
But in this case, yes, I guess you‘ve spotted this one right.
For me it felt like an endless journey, which fortunately got resolved finally.
@PimaxQuorra and @Miracle.
Yeah that would be great, alas no communication so far!
Guys, honestly: I pre-ordered an 8KX and then cancelled. After conversion rate shennanigans, you held on to more than US$40 of my money. I did not use PayPal. I did not consent to a less than 100% refund when purchasing from you.
I am not able to submit support tickets.
I get shadow-banned from this forum when I get annoyed at these practices.
Your COO offers kind words of support and no follow through when actually asked for.
Give me back my money!
Any news on the backer boxes? A search draws a blank here. It’s like no-one talks about these things.
In other news, I now have an RTX 3090 GPU.
From last update see #OMR-ANOUNCE:pimax-official Backer boxes are said to start after Autumn Holiday. That being said those waiting on Lighthouses will have a “small delay” for there’s to start shipping as they are shipping things to one location to combine.
Lots of talk very small traction.
Can I borrow your new gpu?
可以给我你当时订购8kx时的订单号吗,或者你订购时填写的个人邮箱,这都能查询到你的订单信息,当然我不确定是否还能查询到你已经退款的订单。
Can you give me your order number when you ordered 8kx at that time, or the personal email address you filled in when you ordered, which can check your order information. Of course, I am not sure if you can still check your refunded orders.
Sure, it was [SO6963]
BTW, Joan from support informed me on September 29th, that my $70 payment for the 10m DP cable would be refunded in 7-10 days.
She now tells me it takes another 10 business days and for me to be patient because there was a holiday?
Are you guys joking?!
We’ve just had the National Day holiday and it makes sense that all work has been suspended during the holiday.
Please kindly note, that it doesn’t make any sense. Holiday or not does not matter for money getting refunded.
It beats any holidays one might have. A company must stay operational at least for these cases, that’s why not everyone is allowed to take holidays at the same time.
Only if you go ‘all the way back to the mine’ as raw materials. And that is before even refining is included - the high purity silicon alone used to make the chips in the 8kX probably exceeds >$35.
Having been working with a consumer products company for the last few years has given me new insight on the value of money. A $25 product is a couple hours of machine time and a few parts, at most. The 8kX being about 100 multiples of that, plus cost of custom components, seems about right. To be building the 8kX at ~$1300 instead of $3000 is a technological leap that goes underappreciated around here. If GPU manufacturers did the same right now - or even allowed multi-GPU VR - we could really be where ‘entry-level’ VR should be at.
My guess is the combination of COVID and holiday. When there is a public impetus to minimize social distancing, every other opportunity for contact may need to be minimized to balance, so the total amount of contacts do not result in another widespread outbreak.
Commercial operations may be under extreme pressure to cease operations as much as possible right now.
Good to see the backer box now has a refund option attached. Need to wait until November 2nd though. Again, they suggest a $150 refund but based on the info in this thread you know it’s going to be less than that.
To qualify you needed to verify address by Oct 16(yes how many verifications are needed?).
Based on a member whom refunded Pimax Controllers at $150 it looks to be minus $12
paypal transfer fee.
Given the fact, that they now changed their promise of refunding 150USD to your Paypal account if you did not recieve a tracking number on oct. 31 (that, and still delivering the backer box!) into: you can refund and thereby CANCEL your backer box!!! I am very tempted to cancel my 2 basestations, the backer box (of course i haven’t got a tracking code, but we have 2 days left) and the controllers all together. Now that i found out the latest lie about the Paypal refund, i am really, really done with all this. Waited too long, been fooled to many times and also the plan F upgrade plan was a fail, so i am starting to think now that when i refunded plan F with Paypal and verifiyng with Pimax that i would fall back into the original KS full package plan (originally 8k full package, then to 5k+) Now reading your story, i feel very worried again. When does this stress finally stop?
3 years, man and still going the same way…
Oh and by the way, now @PimaxQuorra is saying if you did verify the adress on or after oct 16, the 150usd promise doesn’t count also. I verified from i think aug/sept on but also to be sure it came trough, on multiple dates in october, so, is the last time you clicked verify, the one that is measured for being egible to recieve the 150 bucks? I verified right after the first announcement in backer day or Pimaxwhatever day xxx. It’s so confusing, i clearly remember that promises were different before, i will try to search it. Damn…
(edit:) Here is the thing about the refund, in the Pimax Now event on Youtube {46:04) : Pimax NOW - The VISION 8KX Is Shipping! - YouTube
Nothing is said about thereby cancelling your backer box!
And @PimaxUSA or @SweViver from 46:19 here: Pimax NOW - The VISION 8KX Is Shipping! - YouTube
You talked about a website where you can exactly see what you will recieve. What is the address?
Pimax has changed the address confirmation deadline date on the sly from Oct 31th to Oct 16th.
I have posted to inform everyone about this a few days ago and Miracle have ce*s**ed this post (= unlisted the post from the forum and made it a PM).
Copy of removed post:
I have checked the last KS updates:
- update #80: deadline to confirm our shipping address was Oct. 31th
- update #81 and #82: need for address confirmation is not even mentionned
- update #83: deadline for confirming our address “magically” became Oct. 16 !!
Update #83 was published on Oct 14th , leaving only 2 days to react in time to not lose your stretch goal box shipment and your right to ask for the $150 refund…
Also the fact that they have generated tons of tracking codes with absolutely no physical goods associated with it - I have a tracking code generated on 30th October, sent to me on 31st October, but here we are nearly a week later and the box has still not been picked up from Pimax.
So scummy its unreal, like what was the point of ever announcing the $150 refund if they were just going to resort to scam tactics to try to avoid paying out. Like the whole point of the idea of offering $150 refunds was to generate goodwill, but then they piss all over that by then refusing to issue the refunds where they’ve utterly failed to ship the product.
