Well then you will have to instigate legal proceedings because they will take the fee. Good luck with that. I know it’s a small amount, but I agree the principle of the matter makes it an issue. I am very surprised that there are so few people who are getting the refund and not talking about it. As I said, once my backer box arrives that’s it. I have no more ties with Pimax unless they want to send me a review unit (which isn’t going to happen).

I think you are barking up the wrong tree tagging PimaxUSA and Quorra. They are not tied to the finance department that deals with this. My only suggestion is to contact Credit Card company, or raise another ticket and just be persistent, or attempt legal proceedings. In my experience, Pimax seem to want to ignore the discrepancy issue entirely.

@PimaxQuorra promised me to personally be on top of this and after banning me for a day or two for being somewhat enraged by this behavior, @PimaxUSA kindly offered to personally help everyone experiencing ‚issues‘.
I appreciate this is all very frustrating and annoying but you need to keep level-headed. If you start shaking fists and stomping your feet, it will contribute to being ignored. Personally, I feel no-one is going to get resolution on this [from Pimax directly] unless they get reimbursed by their payment method.
Ok people. Great news. I just checked my Credit Card balance and saw the following entry on September 8th.

Sorted. Shouldn’t have had to come to this but that’s great! I wonder how this will affect Pimax’s status? Always pay by CC as you have great protection against purchases no matter the country they are based in.
I was just informed by Pimax support regarding the fees on the controller refund.
*FYI: Because the refund is for backers from Kickstarter, half of the service fee, 4% of the refund, will be charged by Kickstarter and the other 4% will be paid by Pimax.
Paypal fee was charged by Paypal and we can not do anything about this. If use the bank card of the US to receive the refund, we can save a service fee from Paypal.*
That should be absolutetly none of customer problems or even interest.
Also, the level of user-moderating constantly flagging posts for anyone who disagrees is astonishing.
PimaxUSA is on the forefront of the company and there is absolutetly nothing wrong with tagging him here - he is extremly active as a COO. He’s not related to finances? Maybe, but he is in the position to influence those who are. The level of blame-shifting here is unbelievable.

I’m just sick and tired of being wholly ignored on this issue, it is such a terrible way to deal with customers.
Disputing the amount via my cc company will negatively affect Pimax from doing business via e.g. MasterCard but it seems that is the only option left. What a sad state of affairs.

Beyond opening a ticket, trying top reach you on the forum I have also tried to raise this issue via the store’s chat feature. I was greeted promptly and nicely and then ignored, after I asked about my refund.
When are you going to pay back the amount you owe me?
Just an FYI @Miracle edited the thread title to something that is TOTALLY incorrect. PAYPAL did not charge me the fee because the refund was to my Credit Card. Paypal had nothing to do with it.
PAYPAL charged a fee for the controller refund but there was still a discrepancy with the final amount from Pimax who claimed it was Kickstarter who also took a fee.
I’m sorry about that, I misjudged it, and then the fact is the same, PImax didn’t make a profit from it. Because the money obtained from the crowdfunding platform will be charged a handling fee. PImax actually gets less money than the original one. Moreover, PImax pays half of the handling fee, which is half of the $6, when we refund it to you.

His 8kX pre order backer upgrade has nothing to do with Kickstarter or fees from that. When you accept credit card payments the merchant losing a small percentage of the sale used to be something like 6%. This is a company cost of doing business. So if the purchase is requested to be refunded unless the Company has disclosed prior to purchase a cancellation fee after X amount of time. Then it is expected to be a full refund.
Your Amazon store for example mentions a fee while the pimax store does not. So no it is not the same. Your confusing Kickstarter offered refunds with Pre order refunds.

He is rightfully unsatisfied with Pimaxs disturbing practices that deliver completely unexpected experiences coming from a western/european background.
As much many of us try to comprehend asian’s „buisness as usual“ please also try to understand that we even would consider it a crime to charge fees afterwards.
Everything that‘s on the bill counts for the customer, anything else, does not.
What costs the company has is irrelevant, when it was not mentioned on the bill beforehand.
It‘s the way many of us grew up and many are acustomed to that.
