I didn’t say Steam on auto. It means “user dependend” , so pick what you want and what fits to your GPU.
SWQ is working fine with my Pimax except for the shadows which are very dark. I can see a big difference when I play on TV and when I switch to VR. Anyone with this issue?
Are you saying you’re playing on Ultra with the 8kX using those settings?
SWQ working fine with my Pimax5k+. Less than 5 minutes to make it work, i’m impressed.
the game detects my settings at ULTRA, average 90fps with a Ryzen 1600X and 1080Ti.
Black are not really black and whites are oversaturated, i’ll need to tweak the settings a bit.
Played 45 minutes and I am super happy about it.
Using an xbox controller.
pimax 8kx 3090 asus tuf , its lagging like 30 fps but fpsvr says 75fps , from low to high settings
before you get it take a few benches with your old card before swapping in the old one
my 32x9 monitor is weeping … are you sure?
Even though my 8kX arrives next week , you are making me want to order the G2 just in case i need to choose between which one to keep.
to be clear you didnt kill the SWS app before starting steam vr?
Seems even EA can’t afford that throttle to test with.
No, precisely, the order to start is :
Sws 2D, then SteamVR, then back in Sws you toggle “VR on”. The game will grab SteamVR and roll out VR.
I can’t get this damn game to work! First off when I enable parallel projection, it significantly reduces the resolution of the overlay menus and desktop view. In The Climb it looks like a pixelated blurry mess.
Anyways, I load up Star Wars Squadrons toggle VR, and during one of the cut scenes the image stopped updating on my HMD but the woman continued talking. Sometimes the game just randomly exits on me. And I get a SteamVR failure. Also getting terrible 30 fps in the game with red.
It’s not me… it’s the devs, the state of the game. I got the graphics to look nice. Don’t expect the Reverb G2 to be any better.
Except for the skybox - which is a global problem though that Index and WMR users experience as well. Only VivePro and PSVR seems to roll flawlessly right now.
That’s on the game devs.
I’ll send you my settings within an hour when I’m at the desktop, just copy them then and work from there.
The start order is important too. Totally counter intuitive.
The game is a mess regarding VR, Reddit and their forums are in flames haha
I couldn’t even get my old Logitech wingman joystick or my Xbox controller to work so I gave up.
I’ve played it a couple of hours with the YawVR, very fun!
I used the Index because the motion compensation of Pimax is very very bad, you can’t recenter the tracker and it does not compensate the vibrations at all, and the whole picture shakes very bad and losses tracking very often.
It doesn’t happen with OpenVR-InputEmulator, and it is not compatible with Pimax.
So the YAWVR doesn’t work properly with Pimax headsets? Bugger I was thinking of buying one.
Hmmmm seems some of us got very lucky - through some combination of HMD, drivers & settings it works well.
I had been using Parralel Projections (purple LED & flashing chevron). This morning I thought I’d try mission 4 without PP and it looked the same - did a full restart. If anyone else is working and gets a chance could they try it without PP to confirm or deny please?
I’m going to leave it off for now and see how it goes.
(Possible) Solution to center deadzone: Disable “Throttle center friction” setting in Controls
Solution to Controller mapping issues:
This applies to SWS as well //I think it’s ridiculous, but it solves it:
After assigning your 3 chosen controllers to first, second and third in Windows, set ingame up:
Last step, save the information and forget about it. //until possibly the next Windows Update
the middle of my view, like between the lenses has some kind of bug where its two different brightnesses. i have pp turned on tho
fixed it by not using large fov
