I am very curious to read your review on it. With Flight Sim Guy… well, I never really know what to make of his reviews, they can be all over the place, and tend to be wow & ahh at first, and some weeks later it all sounds way less exciting. So I couldn‘t escape the impression that he is quite eager to generate clicks, and level headed reviews of a new device unfortunately generate fewer clicks that extreme takes, no matter if you abandon them weeks later.

Yes Yesterday the big patch came out and it’s completely fixed the headset for me .
Now there is no more latency everything feels super smooth. They applied a new distortion profile to those huge lenses and it made it sooo good . It’s such a nice distortion profile. Everything has the correct size . The sharpness clarity, colour’s and especially the brightness is levels above my old Aero and even levels above the pimax crystal. In fact it’s twice as bright as the crystal light. But the best part about this hmd is the fov

Congratulations to Somnium for getting this headset out to customers. It’s the best PCVR headset atm with at FoV and clarity.
The headset in the visionary Edition is very light and comfortable . The fan doesn’t make any noises but eliminates any fogging. The headset has no issues with glare and chromatic aberrations . The binocular overlap is awesome aswell . 3d sense is significantly higher than on other hmds I tried
Can you try @risa2000 Hmdq? As that will pull the requested render info for FoV Maximums as well as give info in Stereo Overlap etc…

Sadly Somnium CEO doesn’t seem to care about delivery as much as he claims. I and my friend weren’t able to get within first 70-100 people who ordered so we have no order number and our estimation delivery window is long past due. CEO refuses to answer shipping schedule questions even though before he said he would release one once the first shipments go out. The batches were supposed to ship weekly and there is another delay.Did I mention that multiple times he was very rude towards customers, acted defensively and more? I’ve been there for a while in their discord server and it looks really unprofessional. Our orders are essentially in a limbo state. No specific dates given, no estimation, no place in queue - nothing. I think at this point it’s clear that less than a fraction of % of people will get headsets this year and the rest will have to wait months into 2025.
That sounds like terrible customer service. It’s one of the reasons I refuse to buy on Amazon when I can but I understand that’s not possible with a lot of VR companies especially the likes of high end VR companies.
The problem with these small companies is they always over promise and under deliver. By the time the ball gets rolling another better VR headset comes along.
I hope the same doesn’t go for MeganeX Super light. But at least they have a simple headset with easy to manufacture pancake lenses which come from Panasonic.
I’ll just hold tight with my Pico4 and my bag of popcorn while these companies shake themselves out.

Not true they got the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. I can write Artur in the middle of the night and he responds and helps people …on a Sunday . That unheard of . + I am a normal guy and it was super easy to obtain that headset and beeing in the top 10 people who received one . Like I didn’t even struggle…I ordered it from a hospital on a full time job via smartphone …so there is that ![]()

Way way better than on my aero
It is good when the person is fully on the CEO side and doesn’t say anything that CEO could infer in a way he doesn’t like. But even users who don’t confront him on anything and just want constructive discussion are getting shot down like here.
Dude just wanted to discuss some materials and making headset lighter. CEO just throws “you’re not an expert” and later explains the user took it too personally but at the same time he claims users attempt on materials used discussion has “offended” him and his team - pot calling the kettle black pretty much. This was a mild and recent one. There were many more situations that were worse. Some random dude for example got permanently banned from discord instantly after throwing a snarky comment cause he was fed up with yet another delay and unreliable information I presume. CEO took it personally and banned him. That guy didn’t even talk much before. All that is just a tip of an iceberg. I have a personal rule to not speak unless really needed and it’s good I adhered to that. After seeing what was going on in that discord server for months I have no illusion that I would get booted from it instantly if I ever complained for real
I know Artur personally, he is an awesome guy and takes criticism very well when there is some
