So pre-order customers are getting their 8K-X in August/September?

The only way they will get it is if they are effected@! sorry to say.

Your long response is okay Jien. Honestly I didn’t really want to be first in line. When a company starts production of any new item, it often has little peculiarities or flaws that get worked out over time. I want my 8KX early but not too early. You are correct, considering the circumstances and comparing what’s happened with other companies, it’s amazing that Pimax has done so well.

I’m sorry I don’t have the quote handy, but Pimax itself has admitted that they needed the money so that development could be completed. I’m sure there are others here who can locate that quote.

oysta, I’m sure you’re right. Kevin assured me that with the ramp up in production, any delay in the delivery of my headset would be insignificant. (My wording) I do however think that there should be some sort of compensation to preorderers who were led to believe there headsets would be delivered in no more than two short months.

…their headsets…

This.

It’s not the first time though.

DrWilken and Jien, I don’t know whether you’re commenting upon my statements, but since yours directly follows mine, I have to say that my own need is only for fair and just treatment, nothing more. I apologize if I’m sounding rude, especially if your comment was not about mine.

A concept. A hope that Pimax would be able to build a headset with features that they were unable to demonstrate at the time.

At this rate, by August, this thread will have 1000+ replies. And we’ll still be waiting for our pre-orders.

As an 8K backer who has upgraded, I would have been OK with that. However, once Pimax has stated the 8KX shipping priorities, I would be unhappy if they changed it. Then it would be yet another Pimax broken promise.

I think that, in general, Pimax is trying to do the right thing. They are a young and growing company and have made many mistakes, but I do trust that they will make a good 8KX headset. Not perfect, but good. Given their consistently over-optimistic delivery dates, I would have been very surprised (but pleased) if they were able to ship the 8KX on time. As I have said in the past: I much prefer that they deliver a good headset eventually, as opposed to delivering a poor headset sooner.

Thanks for the info! I had forgotten that I could look up my order status there.

And that is certainly appropriate and reasonable. Unfortunately, because of the delays, people are feeling emotional about this. I agree, Pimax should make some sort of attempt to compensate those who have been waiting for so long.

Think I am going to order by opting out of my stretch goals. Could someone please tell me if we are still among the 500 orders that was mentioned on the youtube show that will get priority ahead of normal pre-orders. If not I will just wait until I can pick one up locally.

As said there are many companies out there that take ore order money in advance. NoloVR did just to name another. Sometimes we just have to accept our decisions we chose to commit to as well and learn for next time.

There is a MAS that is compatible with the 5k, og 8k & Artisan. Named KDMAS you pre orders from 2018 like us should receive that version.

When a game is released broken they don’t let you choose what you get. Plus I said a $50 coupon. No reason they couldn’t simply offer content whether you think it is fair compensation or not.

As @Jien1963D said the world changed. Might as well accept it as there are people whom pre paid for trips that are not getting anything.

Indeed. Though needs to accept what is offered may not be satisfactory. One of the problems that new comers likely wouldn’t see is that pimax is trying to make right old promises ti backers that were disregarded and that we have been in que for things to the point our headsets are out of warranty ahead if anything we receive and a large number of us have housings that are cracking to various states.

The evidence is they admitted it in another thread. Lol.

Anyway. Like most people have said. We are not after any bad treatment for backers. Simply that they try harder in the future (and treat orders as orders rather than as crowdfunding) and maybe offer some small compensation like an eye tracker 50 dollar discount.
