you need stable fps to avoid ghosting in 144 hz mode with smart smoothing , make sure that your frames never drop below 71~72, personally I Iove 144hz with SM in most sim racing games
Did you try DCS? I have been using .253 because it had the best framerate for me and it runs smoothly. Do not want to drop framerate as DCS is 80% of what I do.
Agree, I don’t use smart smoothing but if you see ghosting you are trying to drive your PC too hard. In iRacing its really easy to see, set your replay settings higher than your normal graphics settings and after driving go and watch what was a smooth lap become a double image.
After 2,5 months which are the improvements of 260 compared to 258
Not yet. Might be half a week before I do unfortunately. I am under intense pressure at the moment.
Some people have ghosting in 144hz, it doesn’t matter what fps you have or if sm is activated/deactivated include with minimum resolution sub 900p steamhome or pimax home
seems like a low persistence panel issue or something
260 has been giving me the best performance yet for IC tracking and not dropping out. also, it seems like maybe i’m having better overall rendering performance but i don’t track FPS so it’s hard to say. it’s also possible that No Man’s Sky has just implemented some optimizations over the past month or so.
maybe , I’m on 5k+ .204 and mostly using 144/72 mode with ACC, DR2 , IL2, DCS (quick missions)
and in cockpit view expirence is super smooth and fantastic , only in external/chasing camers I can see minimal ghosting at some objects
What’s IC tracking?
20 characters
Index controllers=IC.
interesting i noticed on payday sometimes i couldnt see peoples ranks (just a blank spot where it would be) , i wonder if thats related… it wasnt consistent round to round, sometimes i could see the rank. def didnt do that before 260 (game also gets updates though)
I am looking for someone who has updated to 260 and that flies DCS. I am looking for a GPU utilization and FPS reading. I have currently run my 5k Plus to 253 because it gave me the best framerate so far with my i9900 KS 5.1 gz - 2080ti slightly overclocked. One of the places I normally test is Instant action Hornet ready on the ramp. The recent DCS beta I am running around 83-85 FPS and I have worked awhile on the optimization. As everyone has different systems I am looking for just a difference in GPU and FPS before and after. Kindest Regards,
Here on 5k+ 203 - No Firmware Available ???
Last week : install pitool .259 + cloud Firmware updated OK > BUT dimmed screen issue & fps drop
So comeback to my pitool .253 + FW 255
Today : install pitool .260 BUT “no uptdate available” on the Check Version Firmware
So I install pitool .259 with the intention of grabbing the Firmware update and install the pitool .260 BUT no update detect
I took a look at this very useful post but the last firmware is not available too
Does anyone have the last Firmware (264 i think) link ? Please
Although i can use 110Hz i’m reverting back to 258, there are some bugs.
Pitool interface only starts when the headset is off wich is anoying
I get dim displays when going back to 72Hz mode.
small white bars(lightbleed?) on both sides in 110Hz mode
@PimaxQuorra hope you find this feedback usefull for the team
Did You check which firmware You’re on in PiTool?
There’s no new firmware in PiTool .260 if You’ve already updated in .259.
Yes I know but in the meantime I came back to pitool .253 + Firmware 255
Today I installed pitool .260 and the firmware check version doesn’t detect any update
So i also tried with pitool .259 because i know the firmware is the same but no update available too
Unless You manually downgraded, You’re still on the newest firmware.
Firmware is only replaced “automatically” if there’s a newer version when upgrading PiTool.
That’s why I asked You to check which version You’re on by viewing it in PiTool…
With Pitool 259 for 5k+ and 8k+ there is a new firmware that was available 264 i believe folks said.
Yes I know that
I’m on pitool .260 and my firmware version is V2.1.255.255 (by viewing it in Pitool.
As you can see here
There is no link for the last firmware available (264 i believe too)
The most recent available here is the 263B
So I m on pitool .260 and the Check Version Firmware doesn’t work for me
and I can’t upgrad manually cause there is no other option than the cloud one
We will need to see if someone whom did have the new one flashed can maybe post the p2.dfu file if ut downloaded.
Will see if can get a link. But the fellow member would be faster.
I haven’t dusted off my 5k+ 203 yet to see if ut upgrades.
