Pitool 260 So far, so good

Thanks man
I hope so
it should be added to the list with the other links

Yes it’s 2.1.255.264, do you have al link to the previous firmware of the 8k+? I’m having the dim display problem

Unless it is 255 no. However pitool 260 in theory is suppose t9 correct the dim display issue.

If your part of the 8k+ Alpha you should have acs to precious alpha that has 110hz.

Hi jeroen
I get these light bars as well, ive sorta given up on 110hz,
I get light bars and a slight ghost on iracing, its like panel persistence.
So i guess 90hz is all ill get out the first gen 8k+.

I saw in another forum post that the Pimax engineers are investigating this issue. Hopefully, it will be fixed in the next PiTool update.

Same issue as with 259, pitool crashes on startup. I’ll revert to 258, again.

@Alex.liu: Might be a good idea to fetch logs from @BNP?

Or the other way round… :slightly_smiling_face:

Whats happened in 259/260 with the resolution, do we now need to increase PiTools Render Quality or Steam SS, it seems to be rendering a much lower resolution.

Yeah I noticed this also. Loaded up Assetto Corsa and visuals were notably degraded. And since I’d done the same car and track combo the night before the difference was obvious.

Thank you very much !!!
@Heliosurge it would be very useful to add it to the releases links page.

What’s the easiest way to roll back to a previous version of the software? this drop in image quality is unacceptable.

First PiTools update in months and it’s major step back in image quality.

@anon57422158 whenever you do your next Pimax day, please share a software roadmap.

I did too, but I think the change may have been in SteamVR, based on when I noticed the difference.

I think you just need to bump the rendering res, either in SteamVR or PiTool.

Got 1.5k+ h on PD2 (one of the greatest games of all times), did it mostly 2D though.
Do you have by chance any mods installed or forgot to remove them before starting PD2 in VR?
Lots of mods have issues after updates.
I needed to almost remove all of them for VR.

i am playing with no mods at all, and havent spent much if any time in the flat mode

I think that’s a really good idea. With plenty of screenshots too… :+1:

Maybe You should make it a Wiki post (to hopefully make it less “static”), link to it from the PiTool download site and make it part of the release procedure (if You have such a thing) to “check if PiTool documentation needs updating”… :slightly_smiling_face:

I’ve been wanting to do a Wiki post for a long time, but You know, life/work/family…

my Pit00l just update to this version and again while everything looks good in pitool when I launch SteamVR it just says searching…
HMD just displays the pi logo and I’ve done room setup and other calibrations in pitool

Thanks a lot…! :+1::slightly_smiling_face:
