@Pimax-Support I placed an order yesterday which didnât go through (paypal error). But I created an account and while the site was up I could see my order there under the âmy ordersâ tab, âpending paymentâ. Does this mean that I have a unit reserved and that I can pay it later and still keep my âplace in the queueâ? Thanks

Overpriced because this is a cheap Chinese company who doesnât know very much about QA, just see how theyâre sending out HMDâs with dirt under the lenses, HMDâs that break down and the latest people canât even get the HMD up and running at all! And now they price themselves like theyâre the new kid on the block. And donât tell met âthing will get betterâ, because itâs been ALWAYS like this since the release of the Pimax 4k. With each new software release they fix one thing and break 3 things and that again is happening now.
If you like to tinker with stuff, thatâs ok. But now theyâre pricing themselves like some hot shot tech company, to me it just doesnât feel right. But who knows, the market might prove me wrong.

Remember. They are small team and still achieved something that oculus with all their staff talent and current pretty much unlimited money source did not. = fov 210 and 2x4k at 90hz. And no even not perfect launch or botched preorder will not change that. Lets all be patient 
In the end preorders will fly and we all will have part of future way sooner than with vive or oculus. Why is this possible with pimax? Remember how facebook moto evolved ? Facebookâs motto has changed many times since it was founded. At first, it was âMove Fast And Break Things.â Then, after years of growth and developers pushing a deluge of bugs, it became âMove Fast and Build Things.â In 2014, it became the much less catchy âMove Fast With Stable Infra.â Then it simply became âMove Fast.â. It will be the same with pimax. It will just take time and patience

Fov 170 horizontally and most people seem to use it at 140 because of distortion and the fact that even a GTX 2080TI isnât fast enough for it. Which btw most likely is the reason the big guys havenât released a wide FoV HMD by now.
That is why StarVR decreased resolution so it can run easier.
@Pimax-Support good to hear your engineers are working on it.
I have to say that you are definitely losing sales because of the website (and credit card payment) issues which is really a shame as I wish you the best.
Maybe as a temporary quick solution you could look into using something like Shopify.com to quickly set it up.

Has anyone actually managed to place a preorder at all yet? This is turning into a fiasco. I got an order number in my account but have no way to pay for it.

I wouldnât see fov and performance situation that black and white. seems like things are moving in right direction. They announced they have shut down the website to fix issues before they can restart preorders⌠They admitted their internal I.T guy designed it and they need professional help to get it working. Classic Pimax mistake

lol, the mind boggles as to how their minds work with everything other than their VR engineering skills. They seem to excel at VR tech and excel at being pants/rubbish at everything else.
Either they havenât ever heard of testing or their testing department needs to change to another role. Canteen staff, perhaps?

Considering the hype and the pretty much very good reviews by testers and backers, Iâd say a HELL OF A LOT!
And how many of those wonât be trying again, due to being put off by the experience? Quite a lot, I would imagine.
Iâm not usually this negative, but it is warranted.
Considering how good these headsets are, the hype and the reviews, Iâm sure they will make a hell of a lot of sales, anyway 
Pimax really needs to stop looking like cowboys!
