New pitool is up! Install new Nvidia drivers first!

I haven’t done it but think you’d run the DFU command(exe) with Firmware file where @IG88 said.

Ill give it a shot later today thanks.

It’s not under brainwarp anymore as shown in the screenshot, it was there before I played a game. I posted a image of it.

If I select 72 or 64 hz or smart smoothing, do I have to restart steamvr to see the effects or no restarts required…?

Missed last Pic. Weird will have to test that myself.

Add @Doman.Chen & @anon74848233 to that post.

Add to earlybackers

I think a restart might be needed

Do you change the affinity to pilaunch service to the last cores instead of the first ?

Ha! I’ve played it originally on my OG Vive, then on my Vive Pro when I got that last summer for a steal. The Vive Pro took things up a notch in terms of clarity, color, for sure. Then I got the Pimax 5K+ end of January, and the game has felt even better: the veil is lifted by the large FOV.

It was actually running better for me in the 5K+ than it was in the Vive Pro, but that might have been my fault with SS settings. Then after this latest PiTool software update, it became mostly buttery smooth, so I was able to notch up the settings even more, and now things are pretty amazing on all fronts.

I plan to write a review for FO4VR once I beat it. But, DrWilken, you will definitely be experiencing the game in its best available form when you play it on your 5K+!

On a related note, I own but have never played Skyrim, so I’ll be running through that epic after FO4VR for the first time on the 5K+. VR versions of these games have been some of the best gaming I’ve ever done.

I’m going directly from an OG Vive to a 5K+, so I’m prepared to be blown away…! :sunglasses:

I’m with You 100% I bought SkyrimVR long time ago but haven’t touched it (not even installed) as I want to be “done” with FO4VR first (Fallout in VR was a dream come true for me)…

Played Skyrim a bit in pancake version, but never finished it (Actually the same goes for FO4VR. As soon as I heard about a VR version I stopped playing it).

SkyrimVR is great. I’ve played just a few hours but the immersion is quite breathtaking.

Wondering if tge Standalone complete mod can be ported used in SkyrimVR.

PiServer and associated background software seems to be the culprit in problems of the headset waking from sleep and if it does, then corrupting the displayed image. If I kill them via Task Manager then I get the headset waking up with the Pimax screen.

Then it is a process of starting up associated software to run something.

What kind of corruption ?

Generally, restarting the pilauncher service solve many problems.

uhhh, this happened during the installation of the new pitools…HELP!

Should i “ignore” it?

I would try a reinstall. That didn’t happen during any of my installs.

Might be an idea to exit pitool & kill related services before installing

Sometimes the headset will start with vertical strip pattern when woken up. Other times it will wake with only one eye or other times, both eyes wake but one might be at a lower res than the other.

You are right, restarting the pilauncher service is the ticket but I hope they get this dealt with as a consumer launch of this with such is a little worrisome as less technical patient folk will holler blue murder.

This can be so many things

1 - Antivirus
2 - Pilauncher service running
3 - Lack of administrative rights
4 - There is still some VR app open in the background

I had this exact message on mine.
It had me worried.
I hit cancel.

Then my hmd did its own firmware update after restrart.
Then i closed & uninstalled pitool maually & reinstalled the new version with no problems

I’m getting a weird shadow flicker in my Fallout game on my 5K+. How did you fix the flickering shadows and things in the far corners of the screens?

I had to enable parallel projections compatibility in Pitool to get the flickering shadows sorted.
