No flash. Better?
Itâs a bit blurry, could we get a better take the next time! Those miraculous metal buttons, Iâm jealous. Lol
yeah geez thats a good point, something was bothering me when he said âadhesiveâ
i wonder if it will fit the 5k+ better because the usb port is on top
What? what do you have to cut to install these?
What does the adhesive actually stick to? the lenses?

If using Eyetracking module, only 8K-X requires KS Bsckers cutting the removable face cowling as it has upgraded electronic components in the top of 8K-X (no physical room for top USB port) causing this issue.
KS Backers can chose not to fit Eyetracking yet and wait for Pimax to design a 8K-X specific face cowling that supports Eyetracking, meaning they wonât have to cut anything.
look at the pictures of my first post. speaks for itself.
The issue is a bad designed face mask. I have no clue how Pimax managed to forget to make room for the eye-tracking module which is in development already for a long time.
It puzzles me how they could show and use pre-production facemask with eye-tracking at the shows and not realize that problem.
I dont know this either,so whats the solution now for us ? @PimaxQuorra @anon57422158
I also emailed support with questions about this⊠But i didnt get a reply at all?? @PimaxQuorra ticket #5304
Hint for all eye-tracking installations:
If your ipd is bigger than 66mm that installation video is garbage. Look at my pictures to avoid any problems with bigger ipds.

They are apparently designing a different face mask for the 8KX that will accommodate the eye tracking unit without the user having to cut anything. Therefore the only solution for now would be to wait until that is available before using the eyetracking unit or cutting the face mask as shown. The big question is if this redesigned face mask will be sent to users who need it for free. Which it absolutely should be IMO.
cmon, pimax just make a new comfort kit so we dont have to cut it lol
I seriously doubt theyâll offer it for free, although they absolutely should for a supposedly fully modular VR device. Seeing how mr. uu has absolutely chopped the hell out of his to get it to work properly, I think itâs in bad taste to not offer an updated version for free.
Anything is âmodularâ with enough tools and brute force

Agreed it is also bad that the magnetic mount is not on the headsets either as it was advertised that the magnetic mount would be used for both ET and vr frame adapter.
Why is the magnetic mount so weak? how could that even get the engineers green light.
I would like to ask all eye-tracking users to check the power of their magnets. maybe i am doing something wrong. But from the video of sweviver the module is in the exact same position as mine. aligned with the few plastic pins. First i thought there must be something wrong because the lower part metal from the frame is almost completely visible. so it looks like if it is applied to high.
Edit: Magnets power looses force squared with distance, maybe something restrict proper closest position of my magnets and metal frame. but i doubt it.
They apparently are:
we did develop a version of the cowling with the pass-through hole
That version is planned to be the only one we produce
This among a list of great questions.
With all the joy of the eye tracking module, a slight modification of the comfort kit could easily be handled.
But the attachment to the lenses seems improvised rather than well thought out, also for larger IPDs. Which is rather unsuitable for the consumer market.
In view of the already known improvement options regarding cable management, modular and secure fastening as well as the necessary modifications to the comfort kit, I strongly hope for positive reports on the use of the eye tracking module.
The required recess in the comfort kit seems too large for it to be inserted as standard without the incidence of light being possible. This could be solved easily with a removable cover or a prepared cutting line. Of course, apart from the revision of the eye tracking module.
