I have a predator helios 300 144hz with gpu geforce gtx 1660ti intel i7 cpu 16 gb ram and ssd drive
I already used a Vive Cosmos with a mini display port adaptor.
I instaled latest version of pitool
Release Date: 2020/3/31
Version: V 2020.3.24
When I connect the USB nothing happens. The headset led is Red and front led is blue.
I had Norton antivirus instaled and noticed that when I insttaled the pitool aplication norton blocked the ap to install. I had to uninstall norton so that I can install Pitool.
Even so nothing happens and I’m stucked.
In the pitool I can See “disconected diagnose 10500” in the status screen.
It’s really a shame that we spend 1000€ in a peace of hardware with this king of issues.
apologies, I’m forgetting the error codes. Hopefully you or someone here finds a solution, it seems very fixable. If not @PimaxQuorra can help with a support ticket and likely a remote session.
Another way: erase Pitool, disconnect the helmet and clean all its files from the computer. Restart the computer, install Pitool, restart the computer again, plug in the helmet.
I very frustrated. I have a HTC Vive Cosmos that I don’t like because of the low quality lenses and lcd…I made a huge afford to buy this Pimax…Cosmos have a good software to install…Pimax instead… I’m starting to read in the forums has many problems in the pitool etc…
Guys this is a 1000€ product!!!
My computer it’s ok
All USB working fine. etc. Al drivers, Bios, Windows, everything up to date…I had Cosmos working fine.
No problem with specifications…so I’m beginning to think this is a faulty unit…Don’t you have quality control before sending 1000€ product to a costumer?
Obviously not a great time to need to try this, but if can get (covid safe) access to a friend’s machine that’s a good place to start eliminating possible points of failure. If it also fails on another machine you’ve got supporting evidence towards a bad unit. If it works on another machine you’ll have assurance the unit is fine and can start working from there to figure out where the incompatibility might be.
Does the 5kXR not have a power connector, too? My 8k and 5k+ they both need i dp one usb3.0 and one power adapter. There is a female plug right where the dp and usb cables join into one.
Edit: with older models of 8k and 5k+ there were some delivered with the cable connector loose which plugs into the headset. Could be worth a try do push it back in with force.
And check if the usb 3.0 port really works with 3.0 speed (check in copying files from or to a 3.0 usb stick or hdd connected) and has the right drivers installed.
Some had problems with a dying ac/dc power converter. If you can, check the output of the power adapter that comes with the headset.
The power AC it’s fine and the headset have the power led red and the front panel in normal blue light.
I have knowledge in electricity and have a multimeter. I’ve chequed power ac and I mesured 12Vdc output.
About the cable, this model XR comes well tighten near the headset.
I’m tented to say that this is a cable malfunction but I read in some posts that Pitool don’t recognise the headset so I’m stuck
Sorry to hear that.
I checked my power brick and it really says 12V/2A(!). I thought it delivers 5V only. But it seems the Headset draws a lot more power than others.
Did you try an older version of Pitools? Many are still happy with .193 or .194 (don’t recall it correctly because I use my index only until my 8kX arrives)?
ye my rtx 2080 ti also struggles in zero caliber on max setting with my pimax xr ( ss 100% , pi tool 1…0
res ingame scaler around 30% , and max quality in visuals
