How many Backers were able to actually order and use the Eye Tracker coupon

not quite all games, VRS doesn’t play well sometimes with deferred rendering, which iirc DCS does use

Not sure I should be but I’m surprised at how many sooks are in here.

Yes, it sucks that heaps of people missed out on eye tracking for now. But making 50 available to backers now with more to come is acceptable IMO.

Welcome to our community! Great first post.

Most of us have been waiting for three years, I’m sure we’ll survive another couple of weeks. Personally, I would have preferred to know beforehand that there was only a small number of eye trackers available now and more to follow in the upcoming weeks, than running into a non-functioning web shop and not knowing what was going on. But that’s probably me being a sook.

You get used to it. I sometimes think Pimax should call us Mushrooms instead of Futurists, very often it seems we are kept in the dark and feed shi… builds character I guess.

If you gotta ask…

Or is this just a sneaky way trying to distract us from the slow progress on the shipment of the 8KX ?

Looking at how few reviews of the 8KX are to be found (anywhere on the Internet, not just around this forum !) it seems as if they could be using this to distract people from the fact that it appears as if they, almost at the midpoint of July, they have just shipped some 10-20 units of the 8KX.

Instead of having us guess, why can’t you just tell us?

The heads up was appreciated. The server backend for your ordering system needs some love though. Not being able to handle a few hundred requests does not instill confidence when people are trying to give the company money.

I am not too bothered about waiting until the next batch, it is my lost time that I am irritated about.

Cause they like to play mind games with us. They already have your money.

I completely missed the 1st round “was working” so I stayed the course and got mine  took me roughly 1hr and 30 minutes into round 2 - 7/13/20.
$124.00 total after coupon and shipping.

I managed to order mine today after ages of errors, cart problems and everything. I refreshed at the right moment after about an hour of trying.

Quite frankly, A WORKING WEBSITE WOULD BE THE FIRST START. One that doesn’t always respond with internal server errors or gateway timeout errors. Try fixing that FIRST before putting the product up there just to piss everyone off because of nothing but errors.

There ARE load testing software available to load test your severs to see how much it can handle so you can make adjustments as necessary, both software and hardware/VM wise. Maybe that should be part of the testing process to make sure your site even works first.

I don’t know if anyone else experienced this but i did see one improvement earlier today at the backer store i was able to get my address changed but when clicking on any item to view i was directly sent to the non backer store and had to sign in again unfortunately for me it would not except my password after several attempts i gave up because is still need to change my address on that site apparently as well if this is going to be the behavior of the backer store page. Maybe some glitch just wanted let you know.

Wasn’t asking YOU directly to test the website, that’s not your job. You, however, can make sure your web development teams have the resources they need to do their jobs correctly. Including making sure they have the resources needed to test this joke of a website. And if they do have the resources needed, then perhaps you need a new web dev team or a new testing team, because it’s clear someone isn’t doing their job correctly.

yup, it’s always been like that. it feels like their web site was made by interns or something. you have to manually change the url back to backer.pimaxvr.com to get back to the backer pages.

A properly coded site would read your profile and direct you to the backer page automatically.

edit: fixed typo in url…

Have Pimax considered having decision makers who are actually able to be involved in making decisions?

Very true, the COO is pretty disconnected from the front line workers. But as the COO, you also have the ability to push things through much faster if you so desired, regardless if you’re local or remote to the HQ.

On more than one occasion I was tasked to get something done ASAP for an executive just because it was their project and they wanted it done now. They pushed their agenda on the regional directors, the director called a meeting with me and my manager and it was moved to the front of the line, just like that. The executive didn’t have to be local to push their weight around to get what they wanted. They simply told their management staff to jump, and they did.

As the COO, if you really wanted to “fix” things like that, you could easily push your weight around to the right department heads and make them get the ball rolling. And if you’re saying you don’t have the power to push your agenda through, then honestly, what are you there for other than to reply to forums angers? Unless you’re only over the PR portion of the company, then I can see the lack of power to get things done on the tech side. If that’s the case, maybe a CTO or equivalent should be made aware of the problems.

On this forum, I agree. But in the entire Internet ? For a nerd enthusiast device such as the 8KX ?

Unless, of course, many of these are business customers. Which according to your statement the other day are the majority of backers. For which I refer to the same meme as above.

My view.

My response was to your line just above my post:

Kevin, it was an honest question and I really do not appreciate the passive aggressive response (not taking into account that you misunderstood my question). Please stop seeing us as the enemy. Allof us want to see the Pimax headset and peripherals succeed, hugely, worldwide. You can’t keep responding as if there is no history of overly optimistic promises, constantly shifting timelines, miscommunication, inclarity, vagueness, silence, and even just plain incorrect information. It has caused a lot of us to be wary, frustrated, angry - or all of that at the same time. We know you are trying to improve, but to be honest, the only reason we know is because Pimax keep saying it - not because we noticed any improvement through the years.

This may seem harsh - but you ca’t really blame us. As we say, “Trust arrives on foot and leaves on horseback”. And you can’t blame us for complaining when our complaints are fully justified.

And yet, I really, really wish all the best for Pimax. I’m sure all of us do. If there’s anything I can do to help make that happen, just let me know.
