How many Backers were able to actually order and use the Eye Tracker coupon

I’ll be hilarious if I sell my 8KX again. I sold my 5K+ and never used it much at all because the SDE is terrible. If i find out 8KX still not meeting my expectation and other headsets are just better, then it’s time to say bye-bye to Pimax forever. Selling 8KX will be the last straw. I ain’t coming back to support Pimax even if they have retina resolution display. By that time, I am sure Valve or some other companies will have better headsets out.

The link in the Kickstarter posting was just wrong.
For backers it is: https://backer.pimaxvr.com/shop/product/xpp2-208-0006-eye-tracking-module-314
And for non-backer preorders: https://www.pimax.com/collections/accessories/products/eye-tracking-module

NO

They even managed to put the wrong link in the email.
That link was for the Pimax website, NOT the backer web site.

Another c*ckup by Pimax, i spent the first hour out of 4 trying to get onto the site they gave us :frowning:
And no i didnt manage to get one either.

Foveated rendering should afaik work for all games as it is a driver related feature - if you have an RTX card, no luck with a 10 series card.
For actually using the eye-tracking information to interact with the game, it needs specific support for that. No idea whether any game that supports that exists at all already. Hopefully we’ll have a standard API for eye tracking at some point.

Thanks NoamLoop for the link and the informations! Sadly I still have a GTX1080Ti, but planning for an upgrade this year.
I think I will wait for more infos about the eye tracker and its use in DCS or IL2.
I am sorry to say, but this chaos on purchasing the module is typical for Pimax. If they can`t get under control these marketing troubles, they will never be able to compete with the big players.

that link failing seems to indicate an account is not being recognised as a backer. go to the backer shop manually to resolve.

i will not complain about that there was only 50 units in the first batch… that’s ok.

but you shod have informed that it was an limited first batch. this would have prevented the backers from getting to mush disappointed when the stock ran out. when thy could not order but could not.

second would suggests that you make an option to preorder from the cumming batches! as i think many would have chosen to do this…

the important thing is to make it as an clear option when stocks are empty so no one mistakes it as an order of items in stock…

right now your store simply blocks so no orders can be made…

i understand why some one did make it that way… with the recent history in mind. but i think you went from one side of the scale directly to the other side.

most web shops in Europe tells if the good are in stock or not, and if not then there will most of the time be an note on when the expect to stock to be filled again. (think of it as when next batch with unreserved unit’s arrives). and then the customer can chose if they want to order now any way or wait for a bit.

i did not write this to complain… but to try to help (and try to prevent my self and others in getting disappointed again when we are not quick enough to order in time  )

Ok, thanks for the info, then something must be wrong with my account. I have one of those KS_* orders with the 8kX pledge in my order history though.

if I remember correctly, it was written in the email - we received a small part of the delivery a little earlier and put it in the shop.

Would a preorder system with an advice that stock for this next batch would be delayed be out of the question?

Just would save struggling to get an order through each time stock becomes available?

Don’t forget that the tests made by Martin was with the agressive setting to prove how much maximum performance increase we could hope. result in general will be less if we want image qualtiy and less distracting artifact

Also no comment/review how the eye tracking affect FOV or brightness, if I sell my 5K+ and 1.0 tracking don’t buy the HT99$ and ET99$ would be close to a G2 price… thinking of maybe skipping this Pimax iteration and wait for a better software integration of the Eye tracking system

ok… sorry if i missed this… and it’s ok

edit:
but i still think it shod be possible to place an order if the stock are sure to be refilled…

i understand that it’s done in an attempt to avoid complaints about wait time. but now the complaint are just about not being able to order the device instead.

that’s why i think the best solution are to clearly mark it out of stock with extended delivery time, but still allow an order to be made…

as now i do not know when i will be able to order and there fore are compelled to check the site many time each day (when we reach the next month as mentioned) i guess i’m not the only one that feel this way?

In real life when you wear glasses your have a small FOV
but yes tough choice

It’s at the driver level and is supposed to work in all games. I’m not sure if it will help much with DCS though, because that sim is mostly CPU-constrained and foveated rendering only helps reduce the load on the GPU.

I suggest you start a new thread in the Games section of the forum, asking if the existing FFR (fixed foveated rendering) feature helps DCS. If it doesn’t DFR (dynamic FR) won’t help either.

Lol, I didn’t even know this happened.

I managed to get one into my shopping cart. Added the backer discount coupon code, no problem there.

Been stuck in with the same error when processing the checkout:

It’s been like that for over 24 hours now.
