Regarding IL-2 and 254a, the work-around here is to play IL-2 in Windowed mode, while having a secondary App in the background. If the stutter starts occurring, I alt-tab out of IL-2 and then back into it. That solves the issue.
If I don’t alt-tab out and in, the game freezes / blacks out roughly 20 seconds later.
16GB DDR4 3200MHz here. Pagefile isn’t much larger.
TBH, the latest PiTool release is probably the version I need to test. I just haven’t been able to get to it, because I have been stuck trying to finish some really complicated software development for the last few weeks…
I have never been kicked out of the HMD lately that I can remember and I do play at least 2-3hours, Asgard Wrath, Alyx, DCS and ACC. I haven’t been in IL2 for a while, so no Idea how that one runs.
I am using the latest 260 and also the most up to date firmware for the 5k+ and 8k+ - always have adopted on “first sight” just as with the nvidia driver.
Hi MReis,
with 260, do you get full GPU utilization?
and if so was there anything you set to make the usage higher?
attached is 253 screenshot stable 90fps ( 260 i only get 76% base and 80% on catalyst at 2.0)
thanks in advance
Nope, I am also stuck at around 75% depending on the game. Sometimes its a bit more, for some games less. So I hope that gets tuned.
I don’t use the Catalyst Setting since anything I do almost instantly causes issues with the rendering, like flickering, for what ever reason.
I haven’t played Alyx with it since I went through the game already before that. I am currently in DCS and performance is always a problem for me in that game, so there I am at about 37-45 FPS and the reduced workload of the GPU does not imapct as greatly since its not ideal anyway in that game engine.
Not yet. My priorities related to Pimax at the moment are the IPD Tester (part of “VR Experience”), helping SweViver with “VR Experience” itself, and encouraging Pimax to ensure things like the “Hardware GPU scheduling” feature are not depended upon in the first place to get the same performance as currently possible with PiTool ‘1.0.1.254_alpha’ .
