@Sidekick1 @avengertj

I’m thinking about buying some counter weight balancers and they go were I have the battery & controller now. If it’s not close to the weight of balancer, I’ll have to take off this assembly to put the balancers on.

Counter Balancers

My question is: Can I plug a 25mm fan with JST PH connector into a 3/4 pin PWM connector?

Cable I’m thinking of using: USB Fan Controller Cable

If not, I want to still use the JST PH & 3/4 PWM connectors without mods, What adapter do I need and are they available?

So, did you tried that 30mm snorkel? Please if it works then also upload it to your Thingiverse page. Thanks

The USB Fan Controller cable that you might use is great!
You only need to connect 2 pins onto the 3/4 connectors anyway.
No harm in trying.

I found that i didn’t need any counter weights balancers.
The powerbank 5v weight is just fine!
I was trying to keep my rig simple, practical usb and neat!

Actually, I also like this idea of attaching the powerbank which not only help to power the fan but also help for weight balancing of headset.

I also got a very crazy idea about placing a tiny fan shared in the link below directly so not much 3D printing required

Btw, got that thought of tiny fan from this video below :joy: :joy:

What you’ve not experienced yet is the noise of the fans!
30mm like Sidekick1 says maybe too noisy!
25mm just right at low speed.
Putting a fan inside the HMD who knows but it’s about no noise feedback from the fans!
The sound of the fans may get on your nerves if too laud.

Actually I use wireless earphones in very hard way to avoid noise of outside while in VR so I am not thinking much about fan noise yet. But I still have to get the actual experience, Have to wait little more to get all things ordered.

When I first saw this then I thought…why? Isn’t I paid enough for the product? Now, it’s more about “how” than my earlier “why” :joy: :joy:

@tadnyarahul You never stop paying for Pimax HMDs.

I bought the counter weight balancers and I modified the fan controller housing as I’ll keep using the battery.

OK so I just quickly modified the snorkle fan with a 30mm front - You will need to make sure you use the flat Peg and I would use a bit of double face foam tape to secure it.

It looks like it printed ok so let me know how it goes for you.

Can you please share the name of power bank you are using for the fan?

@avengertj @Sidekick1 … Is it possible to use this cable to connect with Fan and by cutting the other end of it and then join it to a USB cable and use that on/off switch?

Also, I am thinking to use this power bank for this setup because it’s really tiny and weight only 200 Grams so could also help to balance the weight of 8KX.

Make sure the power bank Voltage can take 5 Volts!
If your prepared to do the modding, soldering then it should work!
I did cut the wires for my fan switch controller,H,M,L,O speed and then soldered the wires to the fan wires. It works beautifully

Poweradd power bank is what i used!

I am also interested in that switch controller,H,M,L,O speed but in India these things are never found to buy or even their alternates. I have just received that 25x25x10 mm fan and all the 3D prints which I ordered but that cable I ordered from UAE god knows when I will get my hand on it because imports usually take months here, so for now I just want to make that Fan working with whatever the option available here in India to buy and get that fan running and for that, I am surely prepared to do the modding, soldering, etc.
