You need these as well to attach the snorkel fan and head strap!
Color and quality is down to you.
I chose a better quality print for mine!
Just to let you know i’m no expert.I did mine not long ago and i was just like you.
Once you get your prints it is really quite easy!
Good luck and keep me informed?
This is a 30mm side fan i think! image
Remember what you want to print,25mm or 30mm

Thanks, bro, Do you have any idea about what to select

Printer Quality - 0.2mm or 0.15mm or 0.1mm or 0.05
Material - ABS, PETG, or PLA ( I assume PETG is far better as I saw some people said that )
Infill - I have no idea about this what to choose in between 10-100%

I am asking this because this is an online order as no offline services are available at my place so I don’t want to order something wrong which is non refundable. :worried:

Why don’t you try 0.15 medium quality?
Material i don’t know.Go with what you know!
Mine is,SLS Nylon PA12
Infill, i got no idea what that is.
I just gave my print company the files and they printed it for me.
I did choose a high quality finish and blue color.

According to the @Sidekick1 snorkel thingverse page, infill is 100%.

I like the various different approaches to this little project.

Just ordered this 4 and cost is around $16 now I am struggling to get a 25x25x7 mm fan in India. Mostly 30x30x10 mm fans are available :disappointed:

@tadnyarahul

Will these work if you use the usb to pin adapter?

This little project has no soldering!
Just easy usb or fan pin header adapter connections.

Thanks, Brother, I saw these amazon listings earlier but I think it’s really overpriced almost 18 USD per Fan so after a long long search just found the cheaper price of USD 7 from the website below, and this is the only website I found except Amazon India who has this 25x25x10 fan available. I really don’t understand why this size fan is so rare here and 30x30x10 mm fans are easily available and in just 2 to 3 USD only. By the way can you please tell me if in case I also want to try a 30x30x10 mm fan then where I can find the STL files of it because all the 3D files I found on this link Pimax Fan Snorkel (8KX and 5K with comfort mod) by SideKick - Thingiverse are made for 25mm fan I believe or maybe I am just missing something.

Actually this need to be done by Pimax itself from beginning to make sure highest comfort possible to consumers when such money is invested but here we end up doing mod after mod to find that level of comfort to fix basic things, In these last few days I have already spent $60 on those covers and now this Fan mod thing and I am sure there will be many more things are yet to come which I maybe don’t know yet where I will spent more money to make this a perfect headset :joy:

@tadnyarahul The 25mm fan you linked from a2zelectronic.com should work. Plug it into the USB speed controller cable you linked with a 3 meter USB extension cable if you’re not going the battery route and you should be good to go.

Fan controller cable

Yes, I think this Fan controller cable is pretty long and along with 3 meter USB extension cable, I can easily move it along with my VR cable so no need of a battery. But I also want to try a 30x30x10 fan so could you please share the link of STL which I need to print for it. Thanks

@tadnyarahul Use the sidefan snorkel as this uses a side fan.

If I knew a bit about how to modify a .stl file, I would enlarge the 25mm snorkel to 30mm so it can accept a normal 30mm fan. Maybe just 10mm of where the fan attaches to the snorkel. @Sidekick1

Thanks, Brother, I hope the creator who made that will add that 30mm snorkel .stl file too if he is following this post.

@tadnyarahul The sidefan snorkel uses a 30mm fan with a side outlet.

Btw, What is the use of this side fan snorkel?

It is more of an open fan that lays on it’s side and pulls from the top. It pushes more air but it makes more noise. I made several prototypes.

Ok, I will modify it and give it a go later tonight to make the Outside 30mm.
