Came back from the Toronto meetup

Isn’t that what you use to make a William Shatner sandwich?

Besides the bread, all you need is a big ham.

on the contrary, thin face pad creates more issues like blurriness and loss of focus, completely destroying sweet spot and making it similar to vive

when they finish 8kx i will demand for a cushion set or at least a thicker pad instead of currently used, cause it simply sux and annoys much more than everything else

At first it seemed blurry but then pulling the headset away from my eyes just a few mm fixed that problem.

this is it

the difference between 5k and 8k could be in headstrap, less pressure makes more distance between eyes and lenses, it helps, but feels not always comfortable

yes! that is him. lol

Kevin’s awesome. Possibly the best decision Pimax has made so far. He’s a backer and always answers questions with a calculated response. Also worked for NASA for frick sake

Yes the thin face pad are a problem. I had to pull the headset away from my face just a few millimeters just to get the sweet spot and remove distortion. I also think IPD should be 60-80 millimeters across the board for all VR headsets.

Why did the 8k seems to have a wider FOV than the 5k+ ? @Heliosurge

Indeed & as we know pimax has stated they wanted to hire from the community. Kevin’s experience & skills are going to help pimax. As a result we will have imho a perfect blend of eastern & western business harmony.

This clearly demonstrates the teams resolve as being fellow enthusiasts to provide the best overall experience. :beers::sunglasses::+1::sparkles:

Difficult to say. Though perhaps the higher end resolution may give a perveived wider FoV. To compare might need a measured experience. To compare.

Though another difference could also be how tight/compressed the face foam makes the eye to lems distance. (Doc-ok has a document on fov differences of eye to lens distance)

if only the headsets were as air-tight as those space shuttles

For all we know he was a nasa janitor :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::hugs::joy:

Being a janitor myself I don’t think he looks like a guy that sweeps floors 8 hours a day. Definitely more of a desk guy methinks. Certainly talks like an engineer. He’s been good for pimax so far.

What is the filter? 202020

If you look at your video cables some have a plastic cylinder on them near the connectors. These filter out emi/rf intetference.
