Came back from the Toronto meetup

The Demos were good for their intended purpose of the event. Kevin waa the only official Pimax representative there.

Pimax sponsored me to attend to assist with setup & technical support. The 8k unit did have an issue with the cable but that seems to from being used for demos perhaps the cord might have been damaged from being step on. The issue wasn’t severe just resulted in looking like horizintal lines here & there kinda like as he describe interlaced video.

But with doing demos overhead cable management definitely a good idea to reduce potential cable damage.

As I didn’t end up getting upstairs for the seminats i’d reccommend taking a look at the videos when posted.

Now the fellow recording me did run out of space when interviewing me. But the main important interview with Kevin is intact.

One of the most importamt details though is on communication.

The reason it often takes time with support is the team is often they are using translation tools to communicate. This of course can make communication challenging.

So with this in consideration if the supporr team is asking for clarification on what is being reported. Ww need to be patient & try to make things clearer. Pictures where possible can help.

This is where pimax is striving to improve things & my experience discussing things with Kevin. Things are going to continue to improve. We just need to be at our best.

While I don’t recall the exact estimate on external units issues I do recall it was said to be I believe atm to be under 8%?

Some of the housing issues 8s due to testing some of the earlier housings that pasted internal testing but as folks know. Ones reported over time developed cracks.

But I don’t want to day too much as a member of the community conducted an awesome interview.

Just know that pimax is winning due to the teams efforts, the community & the result of positive reports from those whom once had doubts.

Pimax was once like small dot on Google maps that some had a passing interest to becoming a big dot on the map; that almost everyone if not everyone wants to checkout

Did your package came with DHL?

My headsets shipped via CN (China poat) to Canada post.

Anything shipped to me in the past through DHL always has had a rekease fee. @Pumcy m1 unit was shipped through DHL & as a result paid extra.

@anon84525399 @Pimax-Support PLEASE DO NOT ship via DHL to Canada backers (they will over charge fees)…ship directly to Canada Post, just like Heliosurge.

Okay this is good news then. Canada Post it is woo hoo!!! Honestly UPS is the worst out of all of them. they once charged me a $80 dollar brokerage fee for a $200 item. Never again

Same experience here when I’ve ordered something from the U.S.

If my mem serves, last time I wanted to declare the DHL parcel my self, it would’ve cost MORE than if I had let them do the job.
Called them and the lady said they would have to do manually something, handle the scanned files or something like that, thats why I would cost more.
And if I’m not mistaken, it would’ve cost something like 40€. The item was something like under 50€ worth, so GG.
Bullshit company. Ok it’s fast I give them that.
Never going to use DHL again with the non-EU shipping.

You could do this if you feel the saving is worth the effort.

“Self clear Canada Customs
If you have some spare time, you can avoid the brokerage fee with couriers other than Canada Post by going to the Canada Customs office in person and paying the GST or duty levied. Private couriers cannot refuse to let you self clear if the package is valued at Cdn $2,500 or less”

This topic seems more suited to be over here:

did anyone else notice the white sparkles on the 8k. I think it’s caused by a loose cable.

same games as me. scary. throw in some sublevel zero and overload.

Did you test the OLED?

I didn’t myself other than the interlaced like effect. But yes the cable was found to have had an issue. But the fellow had said it was fine in the past.

Now @park has recently shown putting a filter on the cable that would be a good idea to purchase & install.

No oled at toronto event.
