Shhh u just broke the NDA!
The WMR system was a good beginnerâs introduction to VR. Was the first system I tried after a demo of Elite with a Rift. I just wanted to plug and play with better resolution to test the waters.
As a seated system it was fine, I just immediately wanted hi res and wide FOV. And then I heard about Pimax.
But those controllers, ugh. They drove me mad. Long terrible glitch outs every 10 minutes that often needed an app restart to recover. Sometimes several. So room stuff was unplayable.
It seems to me that with the MS ecosystem support, and the large companies who built the hardware, there was no doubt that money was thrown at it. But perhaps without any great enthusiasm. I thought it might pick up with the release Odyssey+ and the HP Reverb, but seems to be petering out.
You are being such a tease man! lol we wont tell anyone,
TRUST IN ME
I will tell you something, Mr.
This community, especially including all us backers, consists of true VR enthusiasts who aims for the latest VR tech. The community, thanks to this forum, have a unique insight into almost every single detail about what Pimax is about to bring us the upcoming months.
Pimax is currently leading the market tech wise, and compared to any other VR company, they are willing to give you news about whats being worked on, the progress timeline and even gives u options to make a difference with polls and suggestions. NOBODY else would give you this privilege. Try ask Oculus in their forums about their next headset, and good luck even getting a reply.
Me, as a backer, small YouTuber and now also a Pimax community rel manager, Im just as excited as u are, and Im bringing you good news as soon as Im allowed to. I know a lot of people here appreciate this. If u donât, you could at least try not to kill the excitement for others. Im not a salesman and I dont need to sell another headset to you. Thatâs totally up to you.
What I do is I share the excitement about news I have access to. I know waiting is painful, and theres a lot in progress that I donât have access to yet either, but at least we know have loads to look forward to the upcoming winter. Which the other VR forums and VR brands doesnt - maybe thats why those communities are so salty
Be happy and stay tuned!
Willing to try every trick in the book!
I agree that Pimax is in a unique position/relationship with itâs fans. I appreciate everything Pimax shares, and wish they were able to do even more.
Thereâs a huge amount of inside baseball thatâs happened behind the scenes, that many outside of the industry donât understand or appreciate.
However, and Iâm sure you would agree, Pimax have fallen just short of educating its fans on the ins and outs of making a best-in-class headset, and have kept the âpie-in-the-skyâ marketing as their guiding principle. I think this, along with some communication missteps, has led to a lot of the backlash that pops up nearly every time a Pimax official speaks up with âexciting newsâ.
I donât mean to be a downer or a sourpuss. Iâm eagerly waiting to see whatâs next, and finally get LHs and controllers to be fully immersed. I wish Pimax either hired a dedicated PR person to handle hype and info release strategically, or else fully empowered their vocal employees (cough cough you cough) to make release announcements, instead of giving them visions of the wonderful beyond but disallowing their dissemination.
You keep doing you, Iâll keep my expectations in check, and weâll all be excited when we have our Xâs on our heads and knuckles in our hands. Much love, @SweViver!

I wouldnât say that. The Odyssey/+ has better FOV than the other WMR headsets. Samsung seems to like customizing things the way they want so maybe theyâre working on better FOV. The majority of people use lower FOV headsets so theyâd welcome more res. Even if they go 120 FOV itâll sell well.
Keep in mind I believe MS is supposed to release v2 wmr tracking. & you could say Rift S uses a similar tracking & has improved it considerably.
Agreed Pimax Day comes to mind as it was hyped up as indicating good news as in Project is completing. Instead even longer delays, inflated Index Controller switch & Free Eye Tracking stretch goal now costs $200. The only real good news targetted 400 backers of the 8kX by the cliff notes.
Oh almost forgot. The MAS update & imho looks good. But am interested in the Audio options beyond the Index off ear copyâŚ
Kind of bad to compare with Oculus as it is long ago out of itâs kickstarter. Where as Pimax has yet to complete their Kickstarter & thus is supposed to keep backers in the loop by kickstarter rules & early pimax promises to do so.
And we know even the @m1_Testers have reccommended better transparency.
Yep thatâs the real spirit. No 10m limits there.
Thatâs all I needed to hear. Now I simply MUST buy an 8KX! Now the question is: How to justify it to my wife?
Cubic Zirconian & Flowers.
Interesting that the âPSVR2â patent supports a mix, including cameras on the controllers themselves: https://uploadvr.com/sony-patent-psvr-2-tracking/
That is interesting for sure. Be neat to see how much better psvr2 will be.
Free 2080Ti with the purchase of an 8KX ??
Just shut up and take my money
I want to be an Xman too after seeing the ED shot, love to see more
I really hope thatâs not the case. Been using the Index for a couple of days now and despite it being the best fricken HMD Iâve tried I just canât adapt to the LCD black levels and flat colorâs. Everything is grey and washed out just like Rift S and Pimax. An Index with Kopin panels would be a dream machine
