who switched to an RGB Oled?
90Hz native on the X.
They were already testing this so that would make senseâŚ
And the comment was right after this oneâŚ
Yeah Iâm guessing its 90hz.
? Price drop would be the biggest wow to me.
@SweViver you know Iâm a fan of your work but I sincerely wish you would stop with the hype.
There has been too much hype, only to be followed by disappointment. The 8Kx already looks impressive on what youâve shown. Please just stick to the facts, let the 8Kx stand on the merits of its real performance, and let the chips fall where they may.
Actually it was beginning to middle of october⌠If I google that correctlyâŚ
We already knew about them in september, via FCC registrations. And releases in octubre. But now Samsung is dead silent and no FCC registrations have taken place.
I really want to see more 8k+ vs K now!
Iâm selfishly interested in X vs 5k+
Actually, last year in August we already knew about the upcoming 2018 odyssey+ because of the FCC registration: https://www.roadtovr.com/samsung-odyssey-plus-headset-leaks-fcc-documents/
I have this feeling Samsung is abandoning WMR and they might even abandon VR altogether, even though they were talking about new hmdâs earlier this year.
@SweViver , both the Reverb and the 8K-X are better clashed with text.
Can you please take pics from both in that diagnostics app made in Unreal Engine (in spanish IIRC) ?
Also, one metric i am using to measure clarity and redigibility is puting the same text in a window with Virtual Desktop without any MSAA while maintaining same positioning. This way you can easily spot the âclarity decayâ when leaving the sweet spot (very small indeed on the Reverb).
Just make some dense text and take pics from them as instructed above.
The current king is undeniable the Reverb (despite it´s flaws).
Thanks !
That would be pretty sad⌠Hope they develop their own steam compatible platformâŚ
I had a hunch Samsung would release a headset with their 2K x 2K OLED panels they teased years ago, just like they released their gen 1 OLEDs next to the WMR hmds with similar res. Maybe since WMR tracking sucks theyâre reconsidering.
yeah but it will still be low fov so whatâs the point?
Excuse me?
I told you we have more news to share later this month. Thats facts. Im not sure whats the problem here?
Exactly that one.
Thanks
There is one more thing about the X that we might reveal later this month
It can run independently with an integrated 3080 TI?
The problem is that a community is on tenterhooks, and prone to rampant speculation. The speculation leads to disappointment and backlash, and rarely does the reveal warrant the hype.
Itâs only meant as a caution against throwing fuel on the fire.
