I have both but it seems 84 is affecting the 5k. The 8k is looking better than the 5k at identical settings.
They must be running the 5k+ on 76. But can’t downgrade to 76.
@spamenigma were you getting jaggies(aliasing) on the 5k+? You had to stick to 84 as well?
No jaggies, even on my gtx 1080 so far I’ve managed to balance performance and quality well. Obviously I’ve not seen the earlier version but as I don’t know any better for me this seems perfectly fine.
Are you on pitool 84 as well? Running a 1080ti tge 5k should be fantastic
Yes on .84, never got the earlier version to work and since .84 seems fine I’ve not tried a downgrade since. Using a 1080 (non-ti) and its fantastic, I’m actually quite impressed with it so far, even for experiences that don’t hit 90fps.

Yes! Since needing parallel on for ED, not turned that off or HAM yet. Mostly use Normal, 1, per app 100 and just using manual override slider.
With Manual Override you mean the per ap or the one under Video in steam settings?
The manual override under video starts at 20% but reccommends 16% on my 1080ti so I have left it to Auto & only use the per ap setting.
Alien Isolation for example looks great on the 8k & not so good on the 5k

OK had a short go, interrupted by work 
FPS was quite low so switched to Narrow FOV and steamvr setting at 40%
Getting FPS at around 45-50 now.
I know through lens on a phone cam doesn’t do it justice but jaggies are minimal, only slightly at the edges of some things, the shimmer effect you get on thin lines.
I’ll just add… Alien Isolation on this thing looks ######g good!!!
Interesting. I wonder if I need to reboot windiws when swapping headsets.
Alien Isolation does jump a fair bit on fps. But yeah it is beyond amazing
Worth a shot! Obviously I have no comparison point but I don’t have a feeling of …oh thats jaggy! 
Well as an example text on the computer terminal is not as readable on the 5k vs the 8k.
The 8k does have the slight fuzz you’d expect from a diagonal pattern. I think if they get subpixel rendering working properly the 8k will really shine. Both seem pretty stable with fps rate
As for folks saying the sde is more noticeable than the 5k. This is imho only due to we are trained already in more ignoring the grid on the 5k due to actual screen doors having this.
Now if one wanted to test remove the screen from a window & reinstallba screen at 45° to match. You will notice the screen more readily than before.
