Not sure how steam is giving you that res (3852) at 100% Steam app setting (no override) and PT 1.0?
Surprised too that you are using flyinside? I assume you havent updated (not version 11.30?) as i think they stopped supporting updates at some point.
IE: in my last test case, lows again… 3269x2792 at 32% override 1.5PT is what i’m at.
With no performance lua or tools, i’m sitting around 30 fps facing the terminal (under 30 as roll then maybe a close to 30 value in air with similar settings and AAx4).
But heres where it gets rougher… aspx cloud situation, found a particular date/time saved as wx as comparible… multiple cloud layers on this date and it tanks things, close to 20 fps. I’m experimenting with tweaks or using vivid clouds vs uwxp (so far neither really bring it above say 25 even, though vivid does better).
Clear skies no tweaks i’m rolling around 30-32 fps same settings near London city central with TE GB.
Side note, at the res i’m testing at, its almost IDentical to that of the rift (i swapped back and forth till i got it close). This is at the normal FOV… i guess cause the fov is wider the two are balanced. Obviously to go sharper would cost more fps, but i’m declaring this LOWS payware test my standard, if i can get it to a constant 30 here under multiple cloud layers then everywhere else is at least good enough, with minor blurring (until Vulkan hopefully)
All that said, i’d be willing to bet that the 2080 would probably handle the clouds and that would be the benefit of going 2080, but at a super expensive swap price currently (targeting the hybrid xc and its 1400 right now)… i’ve tested both in past but not since pimax and there was no real benefit to the 2080, pimax needs should change that a bit but so might Vulkan
