When will we be able to order Super Optical Engines?

I’ve been waiting for months to be able to pre purchase the micro-oled module but it never gets back in stock. There was at some point an announcement that it will be available again to order in march. What happened?

Heh. Don’t get too excited. I ordered mine back in December and still haven’t got it. I eventually found out via a PiMax update video that it will start shipping in March ← looks like that’s a NO. I got a generic (non-personalized) email 3 weeks ago…

Dear Customer,

Hope this email finds you well!

We would like to provide you with an update on your OLED optical engine.

It is expected to complete production between the end of March and early April. Once production and quality inspection are finished, it will be prepared and shipped to the local warehouse.

We will keep you updated promptly on any further progress.

Thank you so much for your patience and understanding during the delivery period.

We are nearly at mid-April, I’m not that confident about their estimate either… So maybe mid-May before I hear another murmur?!?

be lucky you were able to order … those of us who didnt order right as it was announced are stuck waiting for the pre order unlock lottery button on the website to activate. :frowning:

I got a response from another query I had (see here). In the response it was mentioned PiMax are currently mass-producing all the Crystal Super line (headsets and optical engines) at the moment and batches are shipping each week. They are expecting to fulfill all open orders for standalone optical engines between April and May 2026.

Take the above with a grain of salt, but perhaps a pinch of optimism might not hurt either?

So, keep your eyes peeled - and good luck! :clinking_glasses:

We’re currently focused on fulfilling backlog orders (optical engine only).

At the very least, once we reach around 80% completion, we can start considering reopening it so the waiting time won’t be too long.
