yes , and for each color separately, that is why I’ll stick to Pimax becouse no other LCD hmd can do this. Thats important part of my immersions in sims.
Are you feeling okay?
I was feeling a bit down, but I just found out now that I received a tracking number for the Reverb G2. It should arrive by Thursday. Will do a full review
oh that’s what you meant. I was thinking they added a new slider.
@vrgamerdude Is there a power button the Reverb G2. I plugged everything in but it’s not turning on!
When I pushed in displayport cable, it seemed to slide in but I didnt hear a click or anything. It’s easy to pull it out. I wonder if its even plugged in fully. But i’ve pushed it as far as it will go.
MIne gave a slight tactile clicked in feel. I remember thinking I was pushing it in too far till it gave me this confirmation…
Is yours fully flushed with the shell? As it seems the one @NextGenVR has is not.
Not at home atm to check.
Okay, so I unplugged and plugged in displayport again and this time I heard a sound like it clipped into placed. But its still not detected in windows. Either its my windows or the headset is dead on arrival
I’ve spent hours trying to fix this. I give up!
Can’t help you there. WMR should pop up onscreen the moment G2 gets power. I’m assuming USB is plugged in to a live port. I plugged my G2 usb straight into the 2080ti usb port. No probs experienced.
The 3090 doesn’t have a usb port. I used USB C to USB A adapter to plug into a usb 3.0 port on my PC. I’ve tried many different ports. I’m going to try my laptop
Going to say. You can’t be a Pimax owner and give up that easily
Mine went black on me on first connection but I just reseated at both ends and haven’t had that issue again… I also didn’t feel a click but try to re-seat at the HMD side… pretty sure that’s gonna be the culprit. Also IDK if it makes a difference but I am plugging into a native USB C port on my MOBO…not using the adapter.
Lots of truth in that statement! [;]-)
At least the 8KX has a power indicator when the headset is on. With Reverb G2, you don’t know if it’s working until it lights up after a software update.
Update: I tried plugging it into my laptop directly with USB C and the displayport to mini dp adapter. Nothing happens. Also has the latest windows 20H2 installed. So this seems to confirm it’s a problem with the headset! I think it’s dead
Update: I finally got it working lol. Turns out the displayport WASNT fully plugged in. I pushed it in even more and it connected. I feel so embarrassed that I wasted so much time on this
It freaking didnt push in anymore if it wasnt in the exact correct orientation.
Glad to see you figured it out. So what are your first impressions?
I haven’t used it long enough to give fully formed impressions but there are some things I disagree with Sebastian on and some things I agree. Resolution and clarity is very good so far. Text on desktop is very easy to read.
@vrgamerdude thanks for the Sim stream. Really glad to hear the distance clarity is greatly improved. That’s a pretty big limitation for me in the 5k+ in being able to pick out markers in the distance for consistency. I’ve been running the 5k+ in ‘normal’ fov at 120hz so hopefully the fov loss is worth the additional clarity.
It’s been frustrating as so many of the mainstream guys just focus on gauges in the cockpit when really, none of us driving competitively car. It’s all about distance clarity. AC modded with CSP and SOL should look amazing. Can’t wait!
