Installed this morning, the difference in performance is staggering. Original Crystal really comes to life finally I was super sampling Aircar (150%) at 90hz never seen anything so sharp and vivid.
Crazy expensive but worth the money without any doubt. Anyone with higher resolution headset should thoroughly enjoy the RTX 5090
Asus qkd code reveals “abnormal video card” when rebooting after installation. Solved by powering off PC, removing 1 stick of DDR and then refitting before rebooting.
Yeah, it really is a massive upgrade for VR. For non-VR I definitely wouldn’t recommend.
I wasn’t expecting to upgrade tbh, but my 4090 sold for more that I paid for it near launch so upgrading to a 5090 ended up only costing me about 250 quid, crazy. If you have a 4090 I would say sell it now and upgrade, mine was snapped up on ebay within 5 minutes. I believe a lot of people are buying them and shipping them to China for that 48gb modification.

Try using the forum.openmr.com link if you’re not already, when I try to go through the old comm.openmr.com link it has a cert issue. That older link should just be disabled entirely I suppose.

This is related to changing the url. We saw this before when they changed from “.ai” to “.com”
you may recall this also broke uploaded images in topics as well as a topic that had links to other topics.
Had they included me in this idea. I would have reminded them of this. The url name change. will do nothing to improve. it will only hinder progress & resources from doing actual value added improvements.
The reason this forum has been dying has bern due to neglecting maintaining the mail server and not dedicating resources needed. Even how OpenMR was made by rebranding the ild pimax forum instead of starting fresh was not a good idea. As the old forum categories still exist. just restricted from new content and mostly hidden.
It took me several months fixing links and image uploads. And It was never fully completed as once in awhile I do a search for something and find topics I missed. 
There is no good reason to change from community to forum. As there are many that use community as the Sub name. in fact less new communities are using the forum sub domain name as community has a more modern positive flow.
Pimax needs to use Fishbone type tool to flesh out ideas to factor pros and cond to see if an idea has real value.
If somebody does not know that forum link is changed, he is lost now.
The old community link should have an explanation message and redirect link to new place.
Yup and images seem to be broken for me a lot of the time (images seem to be getting uploaded and linked to the community.openmr.com url so I guess it’s a cert issue also).
