VR mirror view straight from the Pimax render pipeline

Hi guys!
I have been talking to the devs and requested a feature that could output the processed VR mirror view from the Pimax renderer. This would make it possible to see the “final” VR image including the smart smoothing applied. Also it would help to see the VR image when running games the “native” way without SteamVR running. I know many of you have requested this. Do you have any more suggestions regarding this?

Thanks

Personally, I rarely play alone, however VR games make spectating difficult. What I want is a picture that fits on a traditional monitor (limited FOV, no warping) and makes spectating possible.

An option to turn off the blinking when parallel projection fix is on, I know I don’t need it on always but I leave it on because it’s just safer and less annoying to have to quit a game then turn it on each time.

The “final” image mirror is a good idea, it would be much easier to describe the image if there were an image to actually show.

I would suggest:

  • allow mirror of one eye and both eyes
  • display hidden area mask only if game utilized it
  • while mirroring, allow keep real aspect ratio. This is problem with SteamVR mirror, as pimax images are very wide, SVR mirror breaks aspect ratio. Would be nice to have option to force true aspect ratio, even if it results in image vertically small
  • might be interesting to have option to see warped images as well.

This would be great marcin as i have a projector in my vr room and would love to project the whole picture instead of just the left eye as it currently stands
