With more & more Gabe Studios becoming hostile toward modders. People should boycott buying from
CD Projekt Red: Had no problem for Four years of extra sales that gained by things like @LukeRoss VR mod of CP 2077
-
Luke Ross may have his mods behind a paywall Subscription. That is Only there to support his works. The $10/month is not for any one mod but access to a collection.
-
Fane Studios themselves often charge a fortune for their official Mods. Some are simply skins and give almost no real value
-
Imho I suspect Fane Studios are finally waking up to Car as a viable money maker.
At present Rolf’s VoroX has not yet been targeted. But as Rolf us the next VR Modder to make direct money off his Mid Collection which also has added VR motion controls. VorpX is a threat to Game Studios releasing official VR DLC Mod that will likely cost much more than a one time fee to access a collection of VR Game Mods.
Flat2VR mods generally use original code and do not use Game Studio IP. It simply adda new ways to enjoy Games and boosts sales of even games long dead if sales. By renewing interest in buying and playing them.
In the end it usvth consumer choice to make a purchase or not.
I think though I have figured out some loopholes that Modders could exploit. Like Release Mid for free and charge early access to test beta updates and Beta game VR mods with having official Stable updates released to free mod in a yearly scheduled update for mods.
