I just realized now after viewing some Ansel 360 3D captures from The Witcher 3, just how much more vibrant the colors on the Oculus Rift are in comparison to Oculus GO. And I think GO has a colder tint then Rift as well as a lower brightness. Although the clarity on Oculus GO is better, the image is much more beautiful on Oculus Rift. I realized how much impact the colors have on the viewing experience. My personal opinion after I did this comparison is that the colors are just as important as SDE and FOV for a pleasant VR experience.
I hope the colors on the 8K are on par with Rift, hopefully the 5K too after color adjustment.
YES! Well said and this is so true. I have experienced many headsets, AMOLED and LCD and every one with the AMOLED display , regardless of resolution, displays SO much better colors. The Pimax 4k suffered “bad” colors. Im sure the 8k and 5k plus wont be able to compete with amoled but I hoping for much better colors than the Pimax 4K.
The 4K was dark but not really do to the LCD panels… but because the 4K had these anti-blue light lens filters which made everything darker. Some 4K owners removed them and reported the colors to be much brighter… some even said it was too bright without the filter. The 8K and 5K+ won’t have these filters.
