Strange Glimmer or blurring effect in DCS

I’ve recently started to encounter a strange glimmer or blurring effect with both my Crystal OG and Crystal Super on two separate rigs. As a result, it is definitely a software issue, but I can’t tell if it is due to a recent Pimax Play update or a DCS update. The problem is most noticeable in menu with edges and text on the periphery of my view glimmering, shimmering and/or blurring, but it is definitely there in cockpit too. It is a very hard effect to describe. It is most prominent when moving my head or eyes, so I suspect it has something to do with quadviews, foveated rendering or maybe DLSS. I’ve tried switching to DLAA, and adding some lines to the autoexec.cfg file:

( DLSS_Preset = 'K' and HUD_MFD_after_DLSS = true).

Smart smoothing is off. The problem is somewhat made less distracting by altering the dynamic foveated rendering setting in the quadviews section of the pitool device options. By increasing quality, the issue becomes less severe, but this, of course, is at the expense of performance. Prior to this, I was getting fantastic visuals and performance on both headsets. Now they are both suffering from this issue.

Any ideas?

What you described, that is for me quad views effect of low resolution in peripetal view. I use pretty low outside resolution (0.1-0.2) and that is “normal” for me.
Increasing outside resolution to at least 0.3 made that not obvious. (0.3 means ss=30%)

PS: you can make middle views bigger too (0.3x0.3 or bigger)

Have you tried rolling back to an earlier version?
I assume you’re currently on v1.42 — please try v1.41.2 and see if the problem still persists.
