So... I just spent about 5 hours trying to get my 8KX to connect

So, on my [Main] Workstation, (with the biggest GPU) I reinstalled windows with Server 2022
(I Got cocky “I know how to install Win10 drivers on 2016. NBD”)
Ya, ya… everything was backed up.

Anyways that didnt work (obvi) (AMD drivers say “nope, wrong OS” Yes thats my fault)

After reinstalling 10, updating it…
Driver imports and live updates
Killing services and daemons. (at some point, randomly)
Jiggling cords and rubber-banding them into random positions…
Unplugging everything…
Then unplugging all cards (PCI, etc…)

not a thing…

So I plug in one of the old “non-fiber” cables, which does nothing (following me?)
I throw my hands up and scream “WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS B****!”

For no reason I plug in the other cable (Fiber)
… Starts working…

Im sorry I just had to tell someone, or my soul will explode.

true - also at the professional or inventive* level…
(this is where i reside)

Once again I encounter the issue but narrow my criteria.
I try combinations involving the old cable…
I plug it in without being connected to the headset, and plug in the fiber directly… and it works…

Imnot quite sure why.
