pitool settings 1.0
Are you using small FOV ?
With my config i get 82 in steam Vr SS
Normal fov. Tried large but seems still broken… heavy stuttering, but i need to do some more try later
What do you mean with “i get 82”? Suggested?
in video tab in steam Vr i get 82 per cent suggested with Pitool @ 1.0
Ah ok, you can ovverride it, try 100/150/200 % very incredible but obviously you need to find the sweet spot for every game
Too many sliders its driving me Mad
At the moment on Assetto, i might be wrong.
I changed value in openVr file to 8something
Pitool 1.0
SteamVr video 80
and then adjusting slider in application tab .
Or shall i do it different ?
Got PP off and normal FOV Smart smoothing off 90 hertz
Can you elaborate in what Oculus games you played ?
I just generally let Auto in video & adjust the per ap value after tweaking in game settings as Sweviver does.
@Mpmo10 great find & great suggestion.
much simpler. im now leaving my pitool on 1.0 & just changing steam ss. looks good so far.
Thanks! That’s a great tip. My 8K is supposed to arrive today, so I hope to test this in Elite Dangerous tonight.
While Jean’s link might be for an old version, he was providing a desktop version of Advanced settings as I understand…
The links you provide for an updated version… unless I’m missing something, it’s not a desktop version so without controllers I can’t access them. Unless I’m misunderstanding something? I don’t have controllers for my Pimax so it would be nice to have a desktop version.
Wouldn’t it be best theoretically to put global steam SS to 0% and use the Individual steam application SS? That way, apart from PP, Brightness, BW everything should “stay in place”?
what is the SteamVR SS default setting please? I’ve never played around with mine as of yet?
Here’s a good post/video that explains it.
Note - Steam have updated the UI slightly since and the settings look a little bit different, but it will give you a very good understanding of how it works and how to monitor your system.
Wouldn’t it be better for pimax to hide or remove their supersampling slider, seems it makes for a lot of confusion and nobody knows what it does
I (and many others) do: https://community.openmr.ai/t/how-to-exceed-the-maximum-resolution-of-4096px-imposed-by-steamvr/16067/41
They have said it does “other things”, I’m sorry but the slider is very mysterious
I would very much like to know, what “other things” it does, but I (and some others) have asked @PimaxUSA for an explanation and he gave none so far.
On the other hand, the explanation I posted in the link I verified on my headset and SteamVR (OpenVR). Anyone can do it, so there is no mystery about it.
About openvr advanced settings
Yep, unfortunately i need to check it
