@PimaxVR: Can you answer the question in this topic?

breaking apart the information supplied, the smaller lots as mention i don’t think will be each headset sent on it’s on but rather this country has 10 people so maybe they will send the 10 in one go and then it’ll get separated at the receiving countries shipping sorting building to be separated and shipped. if they bulk send then i’m guessing tax will be on top of that during that shipping process but i am only breaking down the information supplied above.

This is the outcome that would please many

But how exactly do we, the backers get charged for tariffs or taxes? Didn’t we already pay for shipping?

Yes, but it is not UPS (or whatever mail carrier) that charges you these taxes/tariffs. It is what ever your government decides, UPS just helps facilitate that payment for you and your government. It is something that Pimax and UPS have little control over when crossing boarders.

I’m sure they might be able to get away without having customers charged, if they have warehouses that are strategically placed so that it only crosses boarders that have open trade agreements and things like that. But it costs for them to do that, so they will have to weigh the business value of doing that.

@PimaxVR is there any plans to reroute the headsets through Taiwan to get around the tariffs?

Yes, but shipping doesn’t include taxes. And we don’t know yet if we have to pay the taxes, my money is on yes we do. I’d happily be wrong though.

Whatever gets the thing here quicker honestly.

So if I understand it correctly, everybody is now waiting for step 3, the distributor to post the packages? And he already has them so shipments will start tomorrow and the first backers will receive their HMD’s before the end of the week?

Also like some noted, I wonder what ever happened to the first 250 HMD’s that supposedly were ready since Berlin …

Lies, lies and lies… at this rate barely if 500 headsets will be ready by christmas…

@PimaxVR @Pimax-Support @Sean.Huang @deletedpimaxrep1 time for some REAL TRUE progress…

Hey Pimax send it as free engineering sample for us to try, which is kinda fitting. Then there will be not tax, because when its for “free” how could there be tax? =p

You really need to stay off the coffee

Not really there and many moving parts to this, after the first time around things are likely to pick up , I could see a factory producing 100 headsets a day.

True if rates stayed the exact same… However usually in a manufacturing process operations and speed ramp up slowly. They don’t just hit the button and things run at 100%.

After all the delays and lies i think they should.

I think you misunderstand. It isn’t possible for a brand new production line to start at 100%. It takes some time for production to ramp up.

For example what is the maximum speed machine “X” can operate at before production quality breaks or drops? Once you find that time, can the rest of the production line keep up with machine “X”? That’s why Pimax said the first batch should be 100(which it was) and the next should be 700.

What reason would Pimax have to hold back production? They have a large customer base waiting for the official release, probably millions of dollars in sales… It would make no sense to hold back production.

More than half of the proposed 100 HMD’s have not made it past the testing/shipping stage.

Yea, they said they were shipping all of the first 100 this week when they had only completed around 40…
