Shipping Estimates for New Orders

Is there an estimate for shipping new orders of the Super mOLED and the Dream Air?

I’m considering buying but if it’s 6 months then I’ll stick with my 8KX.

Also, what’s the FOV equivalent setting on the 8KX to the Crystal Super? Potato?

If it helps, I have been chasing Pimax CS via the website and via Support tickets / email for exactly these answers. I have an 8KX, have placed an order for the CS M-OLED in late December, but was thinking to switch to Dream Air LH.

Pimax website Support told me 2-3 months for CS M-OLED, and I asked whether realistically it was 6-8 months for Dream Air. They told me no, it should ship within 4-6 months.

Then Internal Support (ticket team) gave me a really detailed answer to all my questions on the ticket, including timescales, which was great. They told me that my CS M-OLED was already on the way to the local warehouse, so had to decide if I really wanted to go to the back of the queue for the Dream Air, and with far less discount options. I decided it was worth it, the small form factor is the way ahead and I don’t want to keep buying and swapping headsets.

Here’s a delivery chart they shared with me:

Hope that helps :folded_hands:

CS M-OLED does 116, so better than Potato but less than Small.

But for me the 8KX IPD does not go low enough leading to slight blur when looking straight ahead, and I feel a little eye strain at time, probably the low binocular overlap. So I’ve decided I’m willing to to lose the FOV for much improved clarity, eye comfort, head comfort from the low weight, and 50% or so less GPU utilization from the much more efficient distortion profile.

Just hope we can apply the CS M-OLED profile of 116 to the Dream Air, which is currently 112.

You mention you ordered a CS M-OLED late December, I’m guessing that was the headset? Then you mention it was already on the way to the local warehouse.

The reason I ask (and thank you for the timeline pic) is that I ordered and paid for a CS M-OLED Optical Engine on 23 Dec. 2025 and my “order status” page has been sitting on “Processing” ever since. Grrr!

Last I heard was that the m-oleds were “moving” about February to March this year and yet the picture you’ve shown implies otherwise.

Also, there’s this by Melody@PiMax, so I’m not sure what to absorb…

Hiya, the OLED optical engines are temporarily out of stock right now due to higher-than-expected demand . We’re working hard to restock them as quickly as possible, and I’ll make sure to notify immediately the moment they’re available again. Thank you very much.

Yes the headset, ordered on 29th Dec. I was surprised it was already on the way there as my expectation for delivery was 2-3 months, but equally I guess that’s not any indication of immediate shipping.

As I’m sure you know, Pimax responses can be a very mixed bag. But to be fair, website support have been helpful, but just seems they have limited access to information. They are pre-sales. Some of the ticket response team seem to be very good, and answer all questions thoroughly. Jennifer is also quite helpful, and replies quickly on the official Pimax Discord and her email.

Might be worth checking the Delivery section of the Discord and pinging her there - many people do, and if you give her your order number, she’ll get a status update for you.

Re the out of stock msg, OK I’d not heard that myself, so might be a new development. They did mention that there is a huge backlog of pre-orders for the Dream Air, so demand for the Sony panels and lenses are likely outstripping supply atm.

If you place an order for the Super uOLED now, the ETA would be around late March or early April. Production is ramping up and pre-orders are being fulfilled in batches, with no major issues on the line so far.

For Dream Air, the Lighthouse version will ship first, then the SLAM version about a month later.
I would say around 3-4 months.

FoV-wise, it feels better than the Potato in my experience.

Thanks for the replies!

I just don’t know which one to order! Coming from an 8KX (original backer here), both seem great. I’m leaning to the Dream Air but the smaller FOV is worrisome. Is it a lot less than the CS?

Just hope we can apply the CS M-OLED profile of 116 to the Dream Air, which is currently 112.
