What are the chances Echin hacked into Norm’s computer and release the video early? LOL
Whilst I respect most of what Tested do, I would maintain a critical eye on Norm’s review as they are not as independent as you might at first think. More pertinent will be how PiMAX react to any critical observations to my mind.
I’m looking at two types of things he’ll talk about. Deal breaking stuff, and other stuff that won’t really phase me. Looking back at his vive r view in contrast to my everyday use of it for a year and a half, well I have some differences in opinion for some things. As of right now, I’m seriously hoping the screens are bright enough, low latency enough, brainwarp really feels smoother, and the vertical fov is at least on par with the vive.
What makes you say that ? Is there any reason to doubt that he’s a honest reviewer ?
I don’t question his honesty, but bear in mind that most of the Tested crew are ex-PC Gamer staffers, live in the SF tech bubble and they are at least partially supported by figures out of Hollywood/US Network TV - Adam being the most visible.
Objective progress goes boink.
I highly doubt someone like Norman would lie. People would find out right after the kickstarter that he has been telling nonsense and this would look extremely bad on him. He has a lot of respect from the community right now but doing this only just once, he’ll lose most of that. And for what, a few bucks from Pimax ? It’s not that they can offer him a retirement.
Seriously? We’re going to have to wait a little longer to get Norm’s review? That doesn’t sound good for the company. It makes it seem like you can’t be trusted because you have to put an embargo on a review and make them agreed on something. It’s like yo…let me check out your video first before you can release anything and if you said something that i don’t like, then you need to cut it out…that sort of deal show lack of confident in the product and therefore the review may not be trustworthy. This review should be open minded and LIVE!!
@deletedpimaxrep1 what is your official position with Pimax?
According to https://www.virtualmarket.ifa-berlin.com/en/XUNSHU-LI,a2209815 she is their global marketing manager, and effectively the primary english speaking contact of Pimax. Also, in my opinion she’s doing a rather good job of talking to us here.
I could be guessing wrong, particularly if there are more Pimax employees named Xunshu. No offense intended.
I get what you’re saying but, it could very well be there are aspects to their tech they may still want to keep tight lipped about. Or, design changes yet to be made, and so they want the review to be clear not to include things that appear negative which will eventually be replaced or modified.
dear? i been getting a lot of “dear” from ladies…stop it!
@deletedpimaxrep1 IS a lady and a pretty handsome one too if I may say so
Also, The Chinese people use endearments a lot in their communications. Perhaps westerners could learn a kinder way to communicate.
Only realised this yesterday It makes sense now. Dont think a guy would be so patient with all the questions
She’s a he? No wayyyy
Pimax’s 8K Kickstarter begins next week on Tues. or might it be delayed?
If Norm & Jeremy’s preview arrives after the Kickstarter has started, that could go awry for potential early birder’s.
On the other hand, it could work in Pimax’s favor if the preview is “heavily” positive.
The rush to Kickstart would probably be enormous and likely blowing right past Pimax’s new 200K goal.
Hmm.
Hi. Already told their global marketing manager xunshu to start the kickstarter at least hour before the review gets posted. That’s their plan
