Also didnât know there was a specific word for this and i would say itâs the best rain smell there is. It feels, i donât know, liberating.

IL-2 Great Battle Series (combat flight and tank simulators)
Some of these are not on the list but I assume thatâs what you are looking for as part of Q1.
- Engine oil
- Engine exhaust fumes
- Gunpowder/Fire
- Fabric (heavy cotton and canvas)
- Leather
1&2 was prevalent in many propeller driven aircraft. 3 would occur in many fighter aircraft with engine cowling guns. 4&5 are constant smells while in the cockpit or tank.
Smoke would be another smell that would send strong signals to the brain but it is not generic. For example oil, wood, electrical, etc. are all very distinct.
The IL-2 Great Battles series is considered by many with VR as one of the best implementations of VR for a game.

Yeah. Me too. There must be women in VR industry right? Not just in porn. Makes me indeed a bit sad to see a girls smell, and noone really objects. But are giggly a lot as if they were a teenager ⌠

Funny enough last video i seen xunshu is a girl and she did brought this list. I did make a joke about the smell of girl if only because even tho as of right now there is 42% vote on it, i just donât know what ppl expect out of that. Maybe itâs because i donât like the smell of perfume. But even if they release that i just wont get it so i donât see the issue. To each is own. Iâm pretty sure there arenât just guys around. I do hope girls wont get too offended by it. Not worth it. Guy will be guy.

It might be culture related, but I highly doubt in China there are no laws against children/adult relations
It is weird that smell of little female children is included in the list of smells. It has to be language problem, else I donât think this smell unit is going to sell. Or maybe just for perverts and pedophiles.
English isnât my native language so to me girl pretty much = female but if girl is used on purpose to mean young woman for marketing now i do see a problem.

Pimax should worry on their lack of knowledge of English language though.
Besides that, Iâd like to know what the reasons for these smells are. What is even all the smells smell like?
@deletedpimaxrep1 is not clear on e.g. âOceanâ Is that a salty breeze, or just smelling like fish?
And what is soil? Is it also grass? Or just plain dirt on the road?
I have no interest in a scent module.
I see it as immersion killer, not adding to immersion. When my consciousness acknowledges a spray of artificial flavourings or essential oil it will completely pull me out of my vr world, as never in any game was I expecting someone to spray smelly chemicals in my face.
Scent is a very deep and primordial sense for me that relies on wafts of minute amounts of complex, genuine scents on the wind. I could never stand air fresheners or other silly artificial smelly things. I donât like perfumes. I vomit at the smell of fly spray.
Spraying artificial flavours or even essential oils at me will be a negative experience and kill my immersion.
So, how about the stuff we all want- deluxe audio strap, controllers, base stationsâŚhow are they coming along?
A scent module is useless if no game supports it. What is Pimax doing to ensure wide adoption? I guarantee if it is up to specific devs to implement we will get 1 or 2 tech demos before the module fades away into mediocrity.

My expectation is that the scent module is most likely to see use in commercial settings, like VR amusement parks or product demos, if it is used anywhere. Itâs too gimmicky to find much use in home VR setups.

We want the smell that causes you to focus on making a headset instead of accessories.
Tell them to make that smell.
