Pimax VR Experience Open Beta 0.50 - Releasing Now!

@SweViver Understood, thanks. I’ll just continue to use OMC then.

What about using CM launcher with AC via PE?

Hi @SweViver,

Here is the link to the paste bin.

Hope this works.

Hmm sorry Im lost here, CM launcher?

Thanks for the log.

First thing I see in the log is that PE has no connection with PiTool. This is serious and without the connection basically nothing will be running.

It seems like something is blocking the local TCP connection between PiTool and PE.

Are you running some firewall management that prevents local connections?

Note: Currently me and Armin are changing a lot of the code. Armin spent the entire weekend re-arranging the Unity project and lots have been already improved, such as the performance when browsing (now the low framerate issue is gone).
Now, we still have loads to do. We take things one by one and upon next release there’s gonna be some huge changes in how PVRHome is running all functions.
We are also going to re-do the initialization process (startup) of PVRHome, that hopefully solves some of the existing uncommon issues that some of you have on your systems.

I dont know yet if this is going to take 1 or 3 more days, but it will require some time to sort this out. You are of course welcome to report bugs meanwhile, but please have some patience with us

@SweViver

Are you not using that? It’s an amazing launcher that not only makes using AC with VR way more enjoyable but also modding a complete breeze.

Regarding PE, it all boils down to of PE offers a ‘view Desktop’ option and if the optimized settings for e.g. AC are applied irrespective of wether PE was used to launch the specific .exe

He better add it or i’ll send her after him.

(and yes she’s holding a “sword”)

Skybox VR Background
I would like there to be a VR background that moves. As an example: where planets rotate. It would look a lot more realistic. It would be alive!

Would it be possible to create vibrant backgrounds?
I would be very happy!!!

Hi,

Thank you for looking into this!

I have only Windows Defender running at default settings.

SweViver.
Thanks for this amazing job.
About CM : Content Manager is a race launcher for assetto corsa that we are a lot to use.
it allows to start a race without even starting the game, so it totally skips the game menus, and launches a race in no time.
we can set the race as we want, and then launch another race very quickly…
it also handles custom shaders, and a lot of pluggins/apps that makes AC way better, including rain, night, lighting, thunder, and so on.
it even has a neck simulator that simulates accelerations, and other G forces that the virtual head is supposed to feel (so it’s basically a dynamic rig emulator for people who don’t have dynamic rigs)
And of course it is also a mod manager, we can import car and track mods by simply sliding the zip files into the CM.
in short : it does everything.

Anyway, we are several to wonder how it can work with PE, since thanks to CM, we play AC while never starting the game (at least not the game menus).

sounds like you are asking for some kind of desktop view

I guess.
I have yet to install PE, this isn’t an option in it?

not yet i believe. im not sure what else you could expect though. obviously Sweviver cant replicate Content Managers launch ability in PE.

your best bet would be desktop view we can ask @SweViver if this is on the roadmap. I believe a few people have requested it.

yeah a desktop view sounds like a must have. even if one of the purposes of PE is to prevent us from having to return to the desktop, I just can’t imagine there is not at least an option to have access to a desktop view, like in steamVR , since the whole point of all of this is not to have to remove the headset from our face, no matter what, right?

Here is the part I am a little confused about…

“Not upon launch of PE; but upon launch of games, as every installed game gets a SteamVR profile with value 8192 added on default, and unless you uncheck the option to automatically apply SteamVR optimization upon game startup, the settings WILL be applied. You can change it at any time in the Advanced -> Manual SteamVR Optimization menu.”

  1. If the option to apply SteamVR optimization is checked it applies “Automatic SteamVR Optimization” with 8192?
  2. If the option to apply SteamVR optimization is un-checked it applies “Manual SteamVR Optimization” with 16384 (if set to be that)?

@SweViver

unfortunately the power saving mode does not work.

at the index the base stations went off automatically when steamVR was switched off.

when steamVR was switched on, the base stations also switched on automatically.

such a feature is miss in Pitool.

can we do something like that?

I don’t think that’s possible without steamvr having a method in the API available for that. I couldn’t find it off the book, so I guess you’ll need to write Valve to integrate that?

Thank you very much for reporting this issue. I have added it to our backlog to investigate and work on it for a future release.

I seem to be unable to find any of the latest beta releases. can someone provide a link to them. I am running 264 pitool. but it does not bring up PE experience, and I had hand tracking working when i first installed the driver but it now no longer works. do the latest versions support the hand tracker now?

How would this work? It was my understanding that the Pimax HMDs lack the required bluetooth chip to communicate with the basestations.
