Pimax Super : Where is 120hz and MR Module in 2025 octobre?

Hi everyone .

I’m lolof1 ,bêta tester Pimax 50Ppd .

Me and other friends simracers,Iracing ,Simflight (DCS WORLD /mfs 2024/il2 bob ) has a BIG question :

We has Pimax OG and Play in 120hz + Quadview and it’s AMAZING with 4800x5200 by eye -resolution.

But We receiveid super 50Ppd ,50ppd UW and Where is 120hz ?

In June 2024 ,Pimax promise 120hz !

In June 2024 Pimax promise MR module ?

Where is 120hz with Crystal Super ?

Where is MR Module ?

As mentioned earlier, there are certain limitations preventing us from reaching 120Hz. However, we are working toward achieving 100Hz, though there are some challenges that need to be resolved first.

Regarding the MR faceplate, development is in progress, and we will definitely share more updates once we receive the latest version from our engineers.

Hi @PimaxQuorra

A quick hello to my brother Calvin from the Pimax #Team by the way. :innocent:

So when will 100hz be available please?

So in June 2024 at the presentation of the Crystal Super the #Team Pimax knew that 120hz would be impossible to have with the super 50Ppd?

It’s really a shame not to have 120hz for the simulation because in our Crystal OG the 120hz is a GameChanger in fluidity, and yet I have an RTX 5090/Ssd 990pro 4TB/64gb ram ddr5, and I see the difference in numbers and visually between the 90hz in the super and the 120hz in my Crystal OG.

So why write 120hz #LABO in the presentation of the Super?

The current DisplayPort cable of the super, what standard is it?

Is it DP 1.4 or DP 2.0/2.1? Thanks for the repli @quorrapimax and hello to all #TeamPimax.

I’m very excited about the Super and Module technology so impressed

But i will never buy a 90hz headset maybe 100hz? Because I’m a sim racer and 120hz is a lot better at high speed catching braking points and apex’s on corners is much easier at 120hz and every this is fluid like Lolof1 is saying. over a 30min race 120hz is a game changer but most vr reviewer’s have a quick look and 90hz and it looks fine but for us competitive racers we know what really matters. I still use my OG crystal great headset but happy to buy a super if it did native 120hz and OG crystal i was so hopeful of 160hz that never happened. can a 160hz super module be possible even if its lower ppd with no local dimming?

Unfortunately the 120Hz option will not available for the Super module.

Theoretically, this can be achieved, but there are no plans to build this higher refresh rate option at the moment.

I am curious just for tech banter what the limitation is concerning. But with that said I also am interested in the 100hz option. I think Pimax should have a beta program where we can sign up and get access to early testing. It would be known that they are not “daily driver ready” and we can help improve the process. It may help solving some of the negative responses of people when you release something expecting one response and you get another. This will give you heads up early.

I understand that our users are always eager to help improve the software and try out new features.
We’ll share more updates regarding the refresh rate option once there’s some progress.

Great to hear that an MR faceplate is on the cards!

Given that there are now some really good (high resolution) MR pass-through headsets available today, can we expect something similar from Pimax?

I am currently holding off buying an OLED Super until a good MR version becomes available (for use in MSFS 2024).

i don’t suppose you have a likely timescale (even using “Pimax time”) … ?

Unfortunately, I can’t share any information on that at the moment.

Its a limitation of screen panels or cabel bandwith?

Micro OLED have same 23 Mpixels as Crystal Light (120hz HMD)

I’d say both.

That’s a shame - I guess there are commercial reasons for not announcing too many future plans, given that Pimax is already working on a number of product improvements. I don’t suppose there is any chance of a slight improvement to the current B&W pass-through, which is pretty hard on the eyes?

Unfortunately this is how the cameras work now and for the future.
