Its the main PCB and its amplifier that powers the speakers, and the new PCB has a stronger one. This is why Y cable doesnât work. I have tested that. Or it does work, but volume is not sufficient and therefore its not recommended. At least not with DMAS and SMAS speakers.
Using other speakers such as the old 4K speakers, the Y cable works fine. But these speakers have a higher impedance and doesnât require much power (lower audio quality of course). We used a Y cable for Artisan and 4K speakers at the US roadshows, it worked fine with loud volume. We realized though, that its not really a aesthetically nice looking solutionâŚ

Either way, I may repeat myself, but the DMAS audio is really impressive. I was expecting it to be good, but not THAT good. The following days I will do some more in-depth tests vs the Index speakers.

For ppl who opted for the DMAS, will their 8kx be sent out first or together when DMAS is ready?

The 8KX backers who opted for DMAS will get these seperately as soon as we start to ship them.
We are currently discussing how we will handle the 5K+/8K backers who opted for DMAS, that already gets the KDMAS for free. Of course, the DMAS might not be necessary anymore. We will inform you the following days regarding this.

asking if there is an issue in the presentation of Smas, Dmas, KDmas
Smas has a flat frequency responce (Spl) about 95 db
at 100 is 80 db
DMas has a flat frequency responce (Spl) about 80 db
IS IT LOWER THAN SMAS ?
at 100 is about 72/73
Is this the demonstration that DMas has more bass ?

Brilliant! Iâm always looking for volume control. Thumb stick recenter good too. Some other small suggestions while I am here: 1. Use the space to the right of the top Pimax Experience logo to add additional time zones: Local time/London/New York, etc. Great for when youâre jumping into VRChat or RecRoom or trying to work out when international events start. 2. Add a button where users can submit game Pimax profiles for official checking and approval. 3. Include a bug submission form on the HELP section if there isnât one already to allow for faster fixes.

That is roughly what I am thinking of. Data would be pass through, power would be a âhubâ with multiple receptacles.

I donât understand what you are talking about. They were designing the MAS for the 5K+ and 8K originally before they released the new headset. They shouldâve continued with that and made a separate Audio Strap for the newer one instead of doing it the other way around.

The MAS isnât the problem regarding 5K+/8K audio. The problem is that the amplifier on the headset circuit board isnât powerful enough to drive both the earphone speakers using a Y connector. Pimax has âmade a separate Audioâ solution for the 5K+ and 8K; itâs the KDMAS. I believe that Kevin (@PimaxUSA) said that the KDMAS would be available at no additional cost for people in your situation.

The MASâes have been in development for a very long time, with numerous of iterations. I think Kevin have tested 10+ different iterations over time. The team, and espeicially Robin and the engineers always wanted to improve the sound quality and make these more than just âany random audio speakersâ. Eventually after finally finding the best suitable speakers and design, it turned out our previous headset couldnt power them enough with their PCBs, which caused new delays and headache. Now, while the SMAS development continued and got finished, and while DMAS was more or less finished as well, we had to create a third model with other speaker drivers, compatible for the old PCBs. Thats the reason for the minor delay of the KDMAS, of approx 1 month only after DMAS. I must say its quite amazing the team made it so fast after all, considering how much work and efforts they have put into this project. On top of that, we managed to make the DMAS/KDMAS audio better than we even expected I think. And remember, KDMAS is a free upgrade from what backers were promised.

I upgraded using Plan C for the 8K+ without DMAS and opting out of all stretch goals which cost $699.
The 8K+ was $999 but is now on the store excluding MAS for $899 so can someone tell me what I get for the extra $100.
