Pimax Facebook ad way too funny

I just saw pimax Facebook ads. They really need to hire someone that knows how to design ad posters. Those poster pics are way too AliExpress level.:rofl::rofl:

And someone plz. Make them into MEMEs :joy:

there are some things on 2nd look

  1. they make ad’s with there not yet existent knuckles like controller, so they hope to have them in a foreseeable future
  2. the controllers are wired so no final hardware yet without wireless module and battery
  3. the head mounting in the picture is still the simple one, so the DAS like mounting is at least further away then the knuckles like controllers(?)

and btw its really hard to advertise for vr, people that never used it usually dont get it how immersive and fun it can be, for most people it just a stupid looking nerd toy - in that relation the pictures don’t help much, depending on the market you have in mind a educational approach might help too (like over 40 and parents buying it for teenagers)

Well expensive electronics is usually advertised like apple products. Clean and sterile. So this is Pimax trying to convey fun and amazement by the player.
But I agree, they seem to be doing all this themselves and that’s so weird. They really need to spend money on a good campaign with professional designers and a good game plan

The wire looking thing is most likely just the handstrap as it has been confirmed they have no working prototype yet.

they did say that their order of doing things was HMD > lighthouse and controllers > other stuff

Agreed.

VR will take a while to reach the masses. Right now, it’s too expensive and the headset res is too low. Once a fairly decent inexpensive computer can drive a 2 x 3840 x 2160 wireless VR headset, with a VR setup cost of $200 or less, VR will really take off. We still have a few years to wait.

Also, it’s something people really need to experience, at a friend’s, amusement park, arcade, etc. (Once experienced, VR is much more enticing.)

Controllers aren’t wired. That is the string of the strap to tighten it to your hand.

As far as I know speaking with Xunshu there is a 3D printed dummy model of the controllers and no working model.

I’m literally having a stroke looking at these. no consistent font. no logo . possibly comic sans or relation of comic sans. this advertising would make me wildly suspicious of the product.

And luck they will need. Those are similar to crappy Aliexpress adds.
