Pimax Crystal light User: PC freeze for 20 min with latest NVidia driver

I recently acquired a Pimax Crystal Light headset. As soon as I connect the headset to my PC and start the Pimax Play software (version 1.43.7), the PC freezes for about 20 minutes. If I disconnect the headset during this time, the PC responds normally again. After many unsuccessful attempts to resolve the issue, I finally downgraded the Nvidia graphics driver from version 591.86 to version 566.36. This solved the problem. Unfortunately, this version doesn’t support DLSS4. I*ve read about this issue in combination with the 8KX but I have the same problem.

My Specs: Windows 11, RTX4080, I7 9770k

Is there another solution besides downgrading the graphics driver?

@PimaxQuorra may I participate in the PIMAX Play 2.0 closed beta?

Yes, I’ve granted you access. You can download it from the following link:

I’m on the same driver version as you, but I’m using the micro-OLED headset. Once I launch Pimax Play, the headset connects immediately.

You could try updating the GPU driver to 591.86 and rolling Pimax Play back to version 1.43.6 to see whether the freezing issue still occurs.

thank you for your response. I will try that.

Juhu! it works! With version 1.43.6, there are no problems with the latest NVIDIA driver. Thank you very much @PimaxQuorra

No worries.

I’ll ask the developers to investigate what’s causing the freezes.

try nvidia hotfix 595.76
