Old Gen 3080, need help setting up for Crystal Super (MSFS2024)

Greetings all…I got the Super for Christmas and am quickly learning it is a real pain trying to find the proper settings to get decent performance and resolution from my old gaming machine. I plan to buy a top of the line gaming machine in the coming months but for now I am hoping to just get it to look decent enough on my current system. I have tried numerous settings from various YouTube videos but nothing is working.

My system:

GPU: GeForce RTX 3080, 32MB RAM, 1TB SSD, Windows 1, Processor Intel(R) Core™ i9-10850K CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3600 Mhz, 10 Core(s), 20 Logical Processor(s)

Flight Software: Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

Any help is incredibly appreciated! I am losing my mind here! LOL

Tallymouse made a good tutorial, still valid, big performance gain from quadviews/foveated rendering!

If you want to keep image quality up you are best bet is to switch to 72 HZ and get used to narrow mode. Then at that point you can just lower render resolution until you get to acceptable frame rates. In-game settings could matter but that’s individualized per game.

After you set those settings I would try with pimax Central rendering on as well as that seems to boost some performance.

It’s definitely going to be a challenge as people with 5090 run this at 45 HZ reprojected. So I would plan to have to turn down a lot of settings.

Pimax software has built-in Quadview Foveated Rendering. Have you tried those? Imo QuadView is the biggest performance improver for VR (at the slight cost of putting more loads to the CPU).
Other than that, the only way to run native VR in heavy sim game is buying the beefiest GPU out there (RTX 5090), but even then you best bet is to stick with 72hz mode for stable framrate
