NVidia/AMD planning to skyrocket GPU prices - What will that mean for future VR (eg: Pimax)?

Seems like the 2 major GPU manufacturers are planning on hyper-inflating the high-end GPU prices to take advantage of the current “AI craze”. Because gaming GPU’s are virtually an insignificant part of their income now they are happy to capitalize on this and bump the prices up - a RTX5090 will cost US$5000 (apparently doubling or more) - to feed the GPU-starved AI data centers!

This won’t only affect PC gaming, consoles will be impacted too - AMD/NVidia make the GPU chips for those too!

What does this mean for PiMax and their high-end VR equipment going forward, considering their potential user base has now likely been impacted also?

Interesting (depressing?) times ahead…

Because the RAM “crisis” will rise, every part containing RAM will have a price increase. These are the last days to have a high price GPU offering. Soon it will be much more.

As PIMAX and others are still niche products (unfortunately) they may remain much less affected than GPUs

What affects VR set manufacturer is missing bridge chips, stalled consumer GPU development because of AI and their own questionable design decision making and diversification.
