Not having a good time with my Crystal Super UW

I’m really not having a good time with the Ultra wide.
I had the original Crystal and that was great, not perfect. But better than the Ultra wide. Unfortunately that developed a fault and was outside the warranty period.

I’m on my second UW module now. Having submitted a ticket for excessive mura on the first one. The new module turned up yesterday.

The new module is better, in regards to the mura but not great. My main gripe is the lenses though. If I look straight ahead the image is slightly blurred, and gets more blurred the higher I look.

If I look slightly down the image is perfect. But as I continue to look further down. The image becomes blurred again once more.

On revisiting the old module. I can see it has exactly the same issue, but it’s bei g masked by the mura issue.

It makes foveated rendering pointless, as I cant look around without the image blurring, as soon as my vision shifts from the lower centre.

Pretty much at a loss at this point, as to where to go from here. So disappointed after the Crystal OG. I have 5 days left on the trial period.

I’m tempted by the OLED module, but realise that I wouldn’t see one of those delivered for months.

Has anybody else experienced anything similar, and did you find a solution? Or am I just expecting to much.

I never have the problem that you described. You have to reduce brightness and contrast by -3 -2 to remove mura. I’ve never complaint about graphic problem in the Super UW, I thought it looks amazing, even the dark is dark…like when i watch videos on BigScreen…the colors and everything look great to me…it even cross my mind and question do I even need OLED, would it make a difference? And when I am racing in Automobilitsta 2, no complain about the graphics also. This is with RTX 5090.

Have you already reported this to our tech support, and did they give you any feedback?
Regarding the blur, does it appear in the same spot in both eyes?

If you place an order for the uOLED now, delivery should be around late March to early April.
