I was a backer of the 8k on Kickstarter. After multiple attempts to obtain the 8k head set and the controller bundle I managed to upgrade to a 8KX. I had to pay another $600US for the upgrade. Didn’t mind paying it. I didn’t hear anything from Pimax for a while. I sent a assistance ticket and asked is the head set was shipped. I was then told no and needed to pay another $300. I was a bit jaded at this point but sent the $300. I didn’t hear anything again about shipping for I sent another ticket asking when. I get a response that the head set and controller box were shipped but with different tracking numbers. Shipped separately. What ever as long as I get them. I get the headset first and tried it out. It works but you can’t do much without controllers. A few days later I get the box with controller’s. It’s inside a brown cardboard shipping box. Take the controller box out and and notice the clear plastic tab is cut. The box has been opened already. I thought it might be customs. I open the box and no controller’s. The light sensor boxes were there. But no Index controller’s. I’m sooooooo angry right now.
It looks like the inner shell is reversed and the controllers are supposed to be inserted from the other side. Did you look below it?

Yes as @risa2000 said your looking at the bottom of the controllers carton. The controllers will be on the otherside.
You are correct. Feel like an idiot.
It’s easy to miss as one would usually receive 2 commercialized packages or a special package that showcases both items in view.
Pimax should really have a leaflet in the box detailing this.
Just keep in mind with the Lighthouses the diagnostic led will be white instead of green. This is due to the firmware of the Lighthouses. Pimax is looking into finding a solution to update firmware so the led codes match correctly.
It is a Pimax specialty, putting the lighthouses into the box from the opposite side. But people were complaining because they missed them. So they now turned it upside down 
.
I would be more worried about the lighthouses though, because they are not protected and prone to damage, as has been already confirmed by several people who received the similar “packaging”.
VR party time! So exciting. I myself find as much or more enjoyment now from others experiencing VR especially first timers. Enjoy… have yet to lay my eyes into an 8KX but am fine for now, gives me more to look forward to.
